Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver

Terrible hotel terrible experience. The property is really showing its age. It’s getting to be run down in places and it’s in need of an update. Staff wasn’t knowledgeable on basic hotel information which lead to lot of confusion and ruined parts of my stay. Photos are misleading. Tried to talk to management about my situation they weren’t empathetic or respectful. Sorry offering a free breakfast which I turned down doesn’t overcome the bad experience I had. Keep your free breakfast it was an insult. I’ve shared some feedback on checkout. No one followed up. All disappointing. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

Chi, the Spa at the sangri-La is amazing, execellent facilities and very nice welcoming. My tecnician Lily was wonderful and vey kind, she always focused on how I feld and what I needed, she made me feel vey confortable, relax and I had an enjoyable stay and definitely I will come back.

We booked our stay at the Shangri-La Vancouver through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The usual Amex FHR benefits applied, including a room upgrade, hotel credit, late checkout, and breakfast, all of which added great value to our stay. We were upgraded to a Deluxe King Corner Room, which was spacious, well appointed, and filled with thoughtful amenities. The room included a generous selection of toiletries, tea and coffee facilities, and a well-stocked mini bar. Everything had that signature Shangri-La feel, elegant, comfortable, and luxurious. Breakfast was a highlight, with a choice of entrée and two drinks, plus a fruit pot and an apple strudel on the side, which was a lovely and unexpected touch. The hotel is perfectly located right in downtown Vancouver, just a short walk to the harbour and Canada Place, making it ideal for both exploring and relaxing. As always with Shangri-La, you get that extra level of luxury and service that makes a stay truly memorable. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Immediately on our arrival we were struck by how incredible Shangri-la is. The gentleman who checked us in congratulated us on our marriage, and proceeded to personally take us up to our room and show us the room. It was the best check in I've ever experienced. Then the room itself was amazing. High tech features, and just like the rest of the hotel it was a mix of gorgeous, comfortable, elegant, artistic, and luxurious. We found a cake waiting for us on the table with a note congratulating us on getting married that evening, and it swept us both off our feet. It was also probably the most delicious chocolate cakes I've ever eaten in my life. We went to the hot tub and enjoyed it very much. A friendly staff member noticed the jets stopped and immediately came out and asked us if we would like it turned back on. Our housekeeper Emily did an amazing job cleaning our room. In general the staff was so attentive and accommodating, even checking in on us by text to make sure everything was going well. Shangri-la is the perfect name and descriptor for this magnificent hotel. We decided on our check out day that we would come back to Shangri-la for every wedding anniversary as a new tradition.

First time here and would definitely stay again as a first choice. Excellent location in a clean, safe area.
