Great location and service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront for 3 nights. The location is perfect being across the street from the cruise port and in walking distance to many venues. The room was great as was the service. The concierges, Lucas and Philip, helped us schedule tours before we arrived. Everything was set up when we arrived. Highly recommend staying here!

Good location, bad elevator

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I booked this property through the Chase Edit Program (Reserve). Just a heads-up: early check-in and late checkout were limited to only 30 minutes before and after standard times, likely due to high occupancy. We also weren’t eligible for a room upgrade since we reserved a Queen/Queen room (they wont put you in a suite) That said, the $100 property credit and daily breakfast perk were a nice touch and definitely added value to the stay. The hotel’s location is fantastic—right in the heart of everything. The staff was exceptional, and the food at ARC was impressive, especially the oysters. The only downside was the elevator, which the staff acknowledged could use improvement. Parking on-site is quite expensive, so you might want to explore nearby alternatives. Overall, I was happy with the stay, but i would only do it using points. Would recommend with a few small caveats.

Cruise Ship Convenience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Unless you really want be right next to the cruise ships, there is really no good reason to stay here. The hotel, while perhaps considered elegant in its early days, is not an upscale property. Rooms are very dated, hotel check ins/outs take forever, and elevators run infrequently so are packed with tourists in town for their cruises. (Many guests on lower floors could not get on a down elevator because they were already full by the time they reached their floor.) The breakfast buffet at ARC was incredibly disappointing. Much of the food was picked over well before the buffet ended, and the general quality of the dishes was poor. Service at ARC was fine, however. Beds were fairly comfortable.

Location, location, location

Just spent 3 nights pre cruise. Perfect location as it is directly across the street from the ship terminal. Staff from front desk to baggage has been super. Alexis at front desk comped us a couple of drinks and breakfasts as our room was not quite ready at check-in. The hotel is very clean and the rooms spacious and comfortable. Just remember the B.C. in Vancouver B.C. actually means Bring Cash!! Would not hesitate to stay again. Tip. he hotel does offer complementary baggage transfer to your ship if you are taking a cruise. Didn't see this mentioned anywhere but the concierge mentioned it when we said we were taking a cruise. Great perk even though ship is across the street it is still a bit of a hike to get to the boarding area dragging luggage. Picked up at our room and delivered to the ship.

Poor breakfast

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Good views but I'm afraid the hotel has two major problems, the elevators don't work and the breakfast is so poor! 47 dollars for continental and the yogurt is off, pancakes dry plus very limited fruit selection compared to usual hotel standards. PS They charge you for wifi and the water in the room.
