In Vancouver for three nights. This place is average at best. Even in their club level which is over sold, too busy and staff a little unhelpful. Generally this hotel is just about cashing in, made one call from my room and charged 11 GBP - scandalous! Would recommend you try do where else- plenty more on offer Lifts not working, massive wait to take luggage down and nearly missed transfer - poor

Great location near to Canada Place - easy to get around from there and plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Our room, which had a harbour view, was clean, plenty big enough for two and well appointed, with decent bathroom essentials. Staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. There is nothing particularly unique or special about the Waterfront but it does what it does very well and is a strong recommendation as a base for a few days in Vancouver.

We stayed at Fairmont Waterfront for 2 days as part of a longer trip to British Columbia. It's a very busy hotel in a prominent position. We upgraded our room to one with harbour view, and it was a great view exactly as can be seen in the pictures. The room was very big and gave us plenty of room even though we were only there for 2 days. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and there is also a train station if you need to go further. As a lot of cruise ships dock near the hotel, there is always a lot of traffic in reception and around the hotel. All staff were polite, and Alexis on front reception took care of us when we were checking in. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Fairmont Waterfront is a 5 star rated hotel. Sometimes, luxury properties get by on their "name". In this case, the Fairmont Waterfront lives up to its 5 star rating with an exceptional location, a world class staff and an ambiance which is warm as well as inviting. The property is located on Vancouver's harbor with great proximity (walking distance) to many restaurants, shops and cultural attractions (example - Stanley Park home to the Vancouver Aquarium if less than 10 minutes away). There is also a subway/light rail/train station directly across the street. The Canada Line will whisk you to and from the Vancouver Airport (YVR) is less than 30 minutes and at a cost of less tahn $5 CAD (each way). If you choose to drive to the Fairmont, the valet will take expert care of your vehicle. Also, the property is located across the street from Canada Place which houses the convention center. When I stayed at the Fairmont a convention was in town; the area felt "busy" but not overcrowded. The Fairmont features a pool on the 3rd floor. The pool is open to all guests and is accessed via the health & fitness area. Adjacent to the health & fitness area and just before you enter the pool area is a mid sized jacuzzi. Every guest at the Fairmont Waterfront is treated professionally and with exquisite politeness. From the Bell staff to the valets to the concierge; quality service is paramount at the Fairmont! Pro Tips - Floors #8 and #9 are reserved for Fairmont's Gold Service. You must be part of the Fairmont loyalty program (note - the Fairmont chain is owned by Accor and you can earn Fairmont benefits if you belong to Accor's loyalty program) to be eligible for the Gold floors. Staying on the Gold Floors means a private check in area; lounge area with a more than you can eat breakfast, snacks all day and night, an outdoor deck as well as a honor bar. The Gold floors and service take the 5 star feeling to another level! As it's a Fairmont property, the Waterfront will not be in everyone's budget. However, if luxury hotels are in your budget, then the Fairmont Waterfront is a great place to stay. Note - I stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront in August of 2025. On these dates, the USD to CAD exchange rate was very favorable to the USD, i.e. - $100 CAD equaled about $60 USD so almost a 40% discount. I recommend checking the exchange rate when booking.

Unless you need to be at this hotel for the convenience of being close to the cruise ships I would avoid. It gets really busy - long queues for check in, long waits for the lifts and even had to wait 10 mins to be able to be seated for breakfast (at 9am) It is totally set up to deal with the cruise ship passengers so there are lots of large groups of guests. The room was ok but really expensive compared to other (better) vancouver hotels. It was nicely decorated but it still felt out dated/ lacking in facilities - lack of enough plugs and no USB points , no water in room, no free WiFi (big surprise given this is pretty standard now) lack of TV streaming options (as far as I could see). Harbour view from room on 14th floor was the best thing. Breakfast was ok but not as good as other vancouver hotels. Swimming pool was nice and gym was ok. Afraid I that wouldn't stay here again.
