Fantastic Hotel Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

From the moment I arrived at Opus Hotel, I felt welcomed and cared for. Check-in came with a glass of sparkling rosé (yes, please!) and a genuinely warm greeting from Andreea at the front desk. Jalen was a fantastic resource throughout my stay—his enthusiasm and knowledge of the city’s food and drink scene made exploring Vancouver even more enjoyable. My room was bright, comfortable, and featured a sunny Juliet balcony that I absolutely loved. The bar staff—Jacinta, Maria, Adrian, and Luca—deserve a special shout-out for their marvelous service and hospitality. And when it was time to check out, management, represented by Scott, sent me off with the same warmth with which I was welcomed. I will definitely be returning to the Opus Hotel the next time I’m in Vancouver.

Wonderful Hotel in a Great Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Wonderful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are nicely appointed and colorfully painted. The location is great, close to a lot of restaurants, cafes and shops. Also the SkyTrain station is very close, so quick and easy transportation to and from the Vancouver Airport. Only minor downside is the limited options for breakfast at their onsite restaurant, but lots of breakfast options within a short walking distance. Overall a great place to stay.

Exceeded Expectations

TLDR: If you’re debating where to stay in Vancouver, you won’t go wrong by choosing Opus. The daily included breakfast at Capo is an easy tie breaker. It’s a charming, comfortable, and luxe boutique hotel within walking distance to everything you will need. The staff are super kind and professional. Prior to our trip, I scoured reviews and we were debating between staying at Opus or the EXchange and we are so happy we chose Opus. It was truly a great stay. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with warmth and a delicious glass of rosé. We were able to check-in early and were upgraded on the spot. We stayed in the Executive king bed suite which featured plush robes, slippers, epsom salts, a Dyson hairdryer, Nespresso machine, and more. The room was spacious, and the dark blue and purple colour theme added to the aesthetic. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the spa bathroom with heated floors added a luxe touch. Additionally, their almost daily turndown service where they provide you with a water carafe and chocolates was a nice touch. Definitely do not skip the daily a la carte breakfast/weekend brunch. Everything was delicious with lots to choose from. Be mindful of the mandatory 18% tip. We loved the “welcome back” every time the reception staff greeted us. The hotel also smells amazing!! Special thanks to Isabella! Can’t wait to be back.

It is so rare to find an independent hotel anymore, or a true boutique property. Opus is both and a great place to stay in Vancouver. Because it is not part of a huge conglomerate, the staff is extremely personable and you get a real boutique vibe - with intimate spaces, quirky design, and staff that remembers your name. Here are my notes:
• trendy, upscale Yaletown neighborhood - walkable to the best restaurants, music venues, and sports arenas.
• public transportation (including subway to airport) at doorstep
• very good value
• Signature Amenities include transfer to cruise port
• modern aesthetic, but rooms need just a tiny bit of an update
• breakfast menu is a bit sparse but tasty with excellent service

My husband and I selected a weekend in Vancouver at the Opus Hotel. With the hotel's Mercedes available to take us about the city, it was a total delight. The suite was well appointed, quiet and relaxing. The hotel restaurant provided delightful French bistro food, the bar in the lobby was eclectic and the staff was always available to assist and be helpful. We plan to return to Vancouver next summer and stay at the Opus again.
