I stayed at OPUS Hotel a couple of days ago. The room had an interconnecting door, and I had to complain due to the noise from next door. Patricia at reception handled it well and moved me to a better room—thank you for that. I informed the team at checkout that I’d be returning for another 3-night stay, which we booked separately. Fast forward to today—hands down the coldest, most robotic check-in I’ve experienced. I say this as a Front Office Manager in central London with over 10 years in hospitality. Once again, I was assigned a room with an interconnecting door. When I came back to reception to explain the previous issue, Mr Nelson (yes, I’ll mention the name) gave a blank look—no apology, no acknowledgement. We literally stared at each other. It was awkward and off-putting. I’ve felt more warmth from strangers on the street in Vancouver than I did at this front desk. Really disappointing second impression.

Love, love, love this hotel!! The hotel itself is so beautiful, with nice rooms, cozy beds and deep bath tubs - but what really sets this hotel apart is the staff! Every one of them is so nice and helpful. Every day they had suggestions on where and what we should do for the day. They all made us feel so special and well taken care of. Can't say enough about them or this hotel. We will definitely be staying here again!

Awesome hotel. Too bad the guests next to me were partying in the hallway 4:30-5:30am. Brutal sleep despite the amazing bed and linens. The worst part for me was how little the guy cared when I told him at checkout. He could not have cared less.

The hotel was situated in a great central spot in Yaletown. Skytrain is right across the road and water ferry is a 5 min walk! Being greeted with a glass of rose and also having a room ready even though I arrived so early was apprreciated!! Arriving in the room I was pleasantly surprised how large it was and the bathroom was amazing. Large tub and seperate shower too! All toiletries to help including shower products, lotions, hand soap and even bath crystals! Bonus the floor was heated!! The room had a nice sitting area with a gas fireplace, large king size bed, desk and storage galore. Downstairs was a great restaurant and bar with happy hour every day! Lovely French bakery and coffee shop too! Highly recommend the hotel and will return next time I am in Vancouver!!

They allowed me to check in quite early, which is not a usual practice with other hotels in my experience, and this was highly appreciated. Modern and well designed room that was very soundproof, providing a quiet sleep at night. Conveniently located, walking distance to many places I visited, including BC Place (I came for the AC/DC concert). Not much view to speak of, just the condos right across the way, so don't walk around in your gitch if curtains are open. Somewhat pricey, but all of Vancouver is such. Excellent room service for nightly needed items like ice. Bed and pillows were comfortable, and shower and bath were well designed with reliable hot water. Fridge worked well. Housekeeping did not show up for one day (I was there for three nights), but management more than made up for it by offering a free breakfast, which was superb (and I'm fairly fussy with food). All staff I met and interacted with were friendly and professional. TV worked well and provided lots of options, like cable, Youtube and Prime Video. My only recommendations were improvement would be to provide more USB options (I used the only one I could find in the back of the digital clock) and to install a sweep on the bottom of the door to cut out the hallway light (I like it pitch black when I sleep). I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

It is so rare to find an independent hotel anymore, or a true boutique property. Opus is both and a great place to stay in Vancouver. Because it is not part of a huge conglomerate, the staff is extremely personable and you get a real boutique vibe - with intimate spaces, quirky design, and staff that remembers your name. Here are my notes:
• trendy, upscale Yaletown neighborhood - walkable to the best restaurants, music venues, and sports arenas.
• public transportation (including subway to airport) at doorstep
• very good value
• Signature Amenities include transfer to cruise port
• modern aesthetic, but rooms need just a tiny bit of an update
• breakfast menu is a bit sparse but tasty with excellent service

My husband and I selected a weekend in Vancouver at the Opus Hotel. With the hotel's Mercedes available to take us about the city, it was a total delight. The suite was well appointed, quiet and relaxing. The hotel restaurant provided delightful French bistro food, the bar in the lobby was eclectic and the staff was always available to assist and be helpful. We plan to return to Vancouver next summer and stay at the Opus again.
