What a premium location and amazing views, but it's so interesting that they pay so much less to their staff than other location hotels of similar caliber? I wish as a travel journalist and an annual visitor they would pay their staff more

It has a great location and views! William the concierge was of excellent advice and efficiency. Reception team is inconsistent and lacking in numbers. Restaurant/bar team is very friendly, but the offerings could be of better quality. Spa decor and location are unusual, but I had a good therapist and treatments. I did very seriously struggle with the thick swirly carpets everywhere specially in the bedrooms. The two connecting doors with both rooms either side of mine certainly have no sound proofing qualities.... I would probably go back but it did not live up to my expectations.

We recently stayed at Pan Pacific Vancouver from April 6–11 , and unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations. This trip was meant to be a special, multi-generational experience with my disabled mother, who had saved for quite some time to make it possible. We chose this hotel expecting a high standard of service, and while our harbour view room was lovely, there were multiple service issues throughout our stay. Housekeeping service was missed several times without any communication or follow-up. Additionally, the in-room refrigerator was not functioning, which created ongoing inconvenience. We were also unable to use the hot tub, as the water temperature was excessively hot to the point of being unusable. On our departure day, we had pre-ordered breakfast, but the order was incorrect. It took three phone calls and approximately an hour to receive the correct meal, and by that point, I no longer had time to eat before leaving. While an $80 credit was provided, it did not fully address the disruption, especially given the timing. Individually, these issues may seem minor, but taken together they reflect a pattern of service falling below what we expected from a hotel of this standard—particularly for such an important family trip. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves consistency in both service and communication.

The two key things for me at any hotel for me are a good bed and a quiet room, and this place delivered on both. I was checked in by the lovely Makoto. All the staff seem genuinely friendly and happy to help in any way they can. The room itself was very nice, with a lovely comfortable bed. Nice toiletries and spotlessly clean. I had dinner in their bar, which did good food, and was pretty reasonably priced for a hotel. I really wanted to try their flagship Five Sails restaurant,. The menu looked stunning, but I was only there for one night. The pool area is pleasant. Both the pool and hot tub were heated to nice temperatures. It’s in a great location, making exploring the city easy to do. If you’re coming to/from the airport, you can get the skytrain direct to Waterfront station, which is very close by. A solid choice, and I would happily stay again.

We have stayed many times at the Pan Pacific and have always appreciated the location, friendly staff, and cleanliness of the hotel. We really enjoy the use of the Club lounge on the 23rd floor that has great views. We would like to especially compliment Benjamin at the front desk, who went above and beyond multiple times to help out our family on our most recent trip. Benjamin was professional, effective and friendly, and we are grateful for his help. He is a real asset to the hotel and we hope to see him the next time we stay here.
