Now, it says the hotel has a beach. Be very cautious that the water is non swimming friendly. So if you come for that, don’t. Plus there are wires of all sort and dangerous metal parts everywhere. When I wanted to let the customer service know about it, the manager was extremely unprofessional and very rude. Her only comment was that we are in Quebec here, not Dominican Republic!! Then she left without giving any proper explanation. The worst customer service I’ve ever seen in more than 100s of hotels visited. This is totally unacceptable! Oh, and restaurant is closed on Mondays. Again, without notification on their website.

Not overly impressed with this 35 year old property. I have definitely stayed in better. However, what struck me most was the lack of customer service. They were informed in advance that we were there as a wedding couple, and that we would have liked to have taken some wedding photos around the property (which would also have given them free social media coverage). Big excuse given about there being ONE other couple on-site who was holding their banquet there. OK, then I was flexible to work out which area of the grounds to go at a particular time, other hotels would have had their GM kind of coordinate satisfaction for both parties on their special day. Nope..told to take them the day AFTER. Sorry, I was trying to patronize an independent, local property....but I would have been treated better at a chain. After the fact, would have been better on our special weekend to have stayed at the Chateau Montebello, a rep from that hotel told us that we would have been welcome to have gone anywhere and everywhere on the grounds, we were PAYING GUESTS!!!. Again, thought that giving the business locally was something good, as the Chateau Montebello is run by Accor, a European lodging behemoth, and owned by Chinese interests. Sorry on this one...the Europeans and Chinese are more skilled in hospitality and will be where I spend our anniversary celebrations in the future. Chateau Vaudreuil could have worked to make the day special but didn't, and those memories will be the ones retained from our stay.

I very rarely give reviews simply because I'm a very difficult person, and it is rather an exception that I'm really happy with my stay. But in this particular case, I should give my five cents. I wish I could give all five starts. This is an excellent and highly well-maintained property. I say more - this is my favourite hotel in the world. When we visit Montreal, we don't think twice about where to stay - it is Chateau Vaudreuil. Your positive experience starts with a very pleasant scent across the entire facility. The property is surrounded by walking passes along beautiful trees. There are plenty of activities to do during summer, such as tennis, kayaking etc. Rooms - hands up, you feel the cleanliness and a taste of entourage. But... there are some cons I want to bring herein - it would be nice if housekeepers checked the alarm settings when they prepared rooms for the next guests. It is already twice that alarm wakes me up at 5.30 am, and after, I could not fall asleep. Restaurant - it is twice that waiters brought us dishes we did not order, but they presented as being a part of the ordered dish.

Today we had a booked reservation for 3 rooms at the hotel for my wife and I and for for the families of our 2 children. Although our request came after the 24-hour cancellation window, Lorena Campagna, the director, graciously cancelled the reservation without any penalties. We had to cancel our reservation due to an unexpected death in our family which required us to return to Toronto. This act of understanding and generosity speaks volumes about the commitment by the hotel to its guests, demonstrating not only hospitality, but genuine care and compassion, even at a financial cost to them. We have had the pleasure of staying at the Chateau many times over the years, making it our go-to hotel whenever we visit Montreal. The service is consistently excellent, the entertainment always enjoyable, and the restaurant and bar along with their ambiance truly exceptional.

I may never book a chain again. The Chateau Vaudreuil offers a calm, peaceful, luxurious escape. Was so pleasantly surprised with our upgrade to a suite. Hotel itself is upscale and feels great to spend extended time relaxing in. Pool, hottub, sauna and extra large showers were a great way to unwind the day. Linens and bed, perfect. Morning with a nespresso machine in my room, very nice.
