A Calm, Well-Run Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We booked Ca’ di Dio through the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) program. Rates were definitely on the higher side during our visit, but that seemed to be the case everywhere in Venice at the time. Very easy to get to using the B Alilaguna, though the ride is incredibly slow. That said, from the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and attentive. They offered a welcome drink in the well-decorated lobby, helped us get checked in quickly, and took the time to give us thoughtful recommendations on things to do and places to eat. The room was on the simpler side but very clean, with some nice touches like handwritten notes, a small snack, and an upgrade to a lagoon view, which was lovely. The decor featured plenty of Murano glass accents, which felt perfectly suited to Venice. The AC was a bit finicky (you have to call to have it adjusted), but it worked well once set. The soundproofing, though, was excellent; when the windows were closed, even the loudest noises outside completely disappeared. We ordered room service at night and it was efficient and decent. Breakfast was a highlight, with a great spread and some lovely pastries, particularly the croissants. Our stay was short, but we left wanting to come back. There was a small mix-up with applying the FHR credits at checkout, though the staff resolved it without issue. One thing to note: the final bill automatically includes about a 15%(?) service charge, you can have it removed, but it’s hard to imagine asking for it to be removed after the bill is printed. Overall, a lovely experience in a calm, well-run hotel.

Best Choice In Venice!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

First time in Italy with 4 cities and 4 different hotels and Ca di dio was by far my favorite. The location is preferred as it’s on the water and you arrive via water taxi and do not have to drag your luggage through the streets of Venice as there is no transportation other than water and boat. Check in was thorough and personalized. Our room was updated, cozy, big and comfortable and most importantly cold and quiet. The breakfast buffet options were plentiful and the best of our trip. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more and can’t wait to return.

Venice Done Right!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This was our second stop in Italy and it did not disappoint. What a lovely hotel offering every possible luxury. The staff is incredible and all speak English fluently. The reception room was beautiful, outside garden area relaxing and enjoyable with full bar. The rooms were luxurious, clean and quiet. This hotel was picked for us by our tour group Tauck. It was close enough to all the action of Venice. It sits in the Castillo neighborhood. There was a water bus stop right outside the hotel if you didn’t care to walk. If you order a private water taxi, you are delivered right to the hotel. Lovely restaurants all over and close to St. Mark’s Square. About a five bridge walk! Most of the bridges have ramps, so easy to venture. I loved the market tents and outdoor cafes all around this area.

Great hotel, amazing views, impeccable clean

Great hotel at a good location, close walks to many attractions but still a quiet area. Our room was exceptional. Nice size, impeccable clean. The front desk was friendly and offered assistance with recommendations and to make reservations at nearby restaurants.

50th Anniversary Celebration in Venice!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My wife and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and my retirement with a trip to Italy. It culminated with a magical 3 night stay at Ca Di Dio in Venice. From the moment we checked in the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Our room was quite spacious, with a king size bed overlooking the canal. Ivan, in the Concierge was available each day with travel and dining suggestions. Katrina, our server greeted us each morning with a smile, and brought my wife a special pastry each morning, along with her coffee. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Venice to stay at Ca Di Dio for it outstanding service, location and staff. John Snyder
