Ca' Sagredo Hotel

Beautiful hotel but a few let downs. No working television and no coffee/tea making facilities in the room which in the modern day to me isn't a 5 star luxury. Fantastic location near Rialto bridge and 20min walk to most places. Having injured myself in the room and bleeding on the carpet- I was very worried about stains and being charged. I wasn't too convinced by the cleaning after the event. The reception team did reassure me that this would be taken care of. Breakfast is extortionate at 44 euro pp so we didn't eat at the hotel. The highlight was the wonderful Ricardo who couldn't do enough to make our stay happier and more enjoyable. Till meeting him we felt staff were a little serious and did not have as much warmth as this young man who exuberates kindness and enthusiasm.

A little underwhelming. Our room felt like an after thought - to access we had to go via the back corridor in what felt like a service lift. The room was not up to the standard of a 5 star hotel room. Mini bar had an open, half drunk can of coca-cola and half drunk bottles of water. Air conditioning broke down and no one checked in to ensure it was working. Breakfast was great and in a beautiful setting. Sadly the terrace was closed with no plans to open with no explanation as to why it was closed despite the website suggesting it would be open for drinks in the summer months. Whilst not the sole reason, it was a large part of why we booked this hotel. Very central location, close to everything and a 2 min walk from the water bus stop. Sadly not what I expected.

We arrived in a shared water taxi from the airport, to be dropped off in the middle of the restaurant to enter the reception . The rooms were lovely, we equipped. Beautiful Palazzo Boutique Hotel, excellent breakfast, great location .

Our family stayed at Ca’ Sagredo for three nights in a suite with our 15-year-old son, and overall it was a very mixed experience. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The history, architecture and interiors are breathtaking, and walking up the magnificent staircase to breakfast each morning felt like stepping onto a film set. Breakfast was excellent, and our suite was spacious and beautiful. The bed linen was luxurious, and once our son’s bed was replaced, it was very comfortable. We had initially been given what was essentially a toddler-sized bed for our 15-year-old, but the staff responded quickly and changed it without any fuss, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, there were several details that let the experience down. The entrance to the hotel from the street is disappointing. It isn’t particularly clean and doesn’t prepare you for the grandeur waiting inside. Before our arrival, we emailed the hotel three times and phoned twice asking them to arrange transport from the train station. We were simply told to make our own way there. We also emailed asking them to book a restaurant for us and never received any response. The room itself, while beautiful, could have benefited from more attention to detail. The carpets and walls were marked and looked tired. The Wi-Fi didn’t work throughout our stay, and the Wi-Fi code displayed in the room was incorrect. During an exceptionally hot few days in Venice, the air conditioning was centrally controlled by the hotel, so we couldn’t lower the temperature to make the room comfortable. Complimentary bottled water was only provided on the first night, and we were advised to drink tap water for the remainder of our stay. Ca’ Sagredo is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and historic hotels we’ve stayed in, and there are moments that are truly unforgettable. However, for a luxury hotel, the lack of attention to detail and inconsistent service prevent it from delivering the five-star experience its spectacular surroundings promise. I’d probably rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars. The building is extraordinary and worth experiencing, but the service and maintenance don’t consistently match the hotel’s remarkable setting.

Room ++ nice and big but disappointing in some aspects: 1) carpets - tired and grubby 2) nails sticking out of a furniture which tore my dress (reported to reception who ignored the dress damage and told me housekeeping would fix the nail issue - but it wasn’t ) Room Amenities - disappointing basic necessities 1) no water supplied (aside from day 1), water charged at Eur8 (which are Eur2 in the shop) - water is a basic necessity. 2) no kettle - hot water on request (supplied with sugar !), the hotel was happy to supply hot water yet supplied no tea/coffee in the room. 3) internet in the room did not work for the entire stay so every evening i was using much mobile data to do my work. Bathroom ++ good decor and facilities, but kitted out for 2 people, we had to ask for extra supplies disappointing - on day 3 we put towels and bathroom on floor for replacement. The bathrobe was just hung up and NOT a clean new one. Location - very well located Airport Transfer - the hotel will charge you more than twice the price of a private taxi. We arranged our own shared taxi - which worked well, we were the first drop off at the hotel boat drop. The water bus stop is just 1 minute walk from the hotel Equally accessible is the water bus from the Ca ‘Dor bus stop to Roma (main stop) and bus from there to the airport. Breakfast and dining at the hotel is expensive, however, hotel location is so very near many restaurant and food options. Coop very near by where we picked up breakfast supplies. Danial the porter was very jolly, happy and helpful
