Venice, Italy is the great monument to the Renaissance and has stood as it does today for over five hundred years. Overlooking the Grand Canal, with an incomparable view of Venice, Hotel Gritti Palace is one of the world's most celebrated hotels. The city is steeped in history, architecture and art dating from the Byzantine Empire - a series of islands connected by bridges and divided by canals of every size. Commissioned in 1525 as the residence of the Doge of Venice, Hotel Gritti Palace has welcomed kings and queens, prime ministers and presidents, and elite guests with its luxuriously appointed rooms and exceptional service.

The absolute highlight of our last trip was the cooking class with Chef Franco. He took us early in the morning to shop for fresh ingredients at the local market, with a quick stop at a lovely bacaro, before heading back to the incredible kitchen. We made a variety of dishes while enjoying some wine, and wrapped up the session by devouring the delicious bites we’d prepared. It was our first cooking class, and honestly, we’ve been hesitant to try another since; it’s hard to imagine anything living up to the experience Chef Franco gave us. Overall, I can’t say enough about this property and the wonderful team behind it.

Fantastic hotel stay. The service was great from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the restaurant staff. The only minor exception was with the concierge who initially checked us in and was a little short with us - as we had a little brain fog after 20 hours of traveling, leading to some awkward moments. Only other hiccup was our king sized hotel bed, which felt like two single beds pushed together and was quite lumpy and uncomfortable. Besides that, everything else was a dream. Echoing a lot of the other reviews - you simply cannot beat the Gritti's location. Eating on the front deck is a truly magical experience. Yes - they automatically add a surcharge to eat or drink there, but you are paying for one of the best views in the world so we didn't sweat it. Also, as others have pointed out, the breakfast is indeed amazing. We'll definitely be returning here in the future - hopefully with more comfortable beds.

I would like to sincerely thank the wonderful staff who made my birthday so incredibly special. You made me feel important, valued, and truly cared for. My birthday dinner was nothing short of superb and truly blessed, an experience I will never forget. Your kindness, attention to detail, and professionalism touched my heart, and I will remain forever grateful for everything you did. I promise to find a way to give back to each of you for the warmth and generosity you showed me.

Unique in Venice. Impeccable all-around service, from housekeeping to the RIVA Bar. Every aspect of your stay is curated under the tutelage of the newly appointed GM Mr.Giovanni Cellerino and his team. Attention to details is at the base of a perfect stay.

Our second time staying here and it was just as great as we remembered! It’s a beautiful property, with such an incredible history. It’s easy to walk from the hotel around town, which is a huge plus in Venice. The breakfast is my favorite meal available at the hotel - its the most incredible spread (buffet and made to order options, cappuccinos, fresh juices, etc. are all included) The bar feels like you’re in an old time movie, one of the classics. Our favorite cocktail is the Basilica, so much so that we have replicated it at home. Pro tip: snag an extra bottle of water at breakfast to take back to your room if you drink a TON of water like we do, I’ll drink the bottles they give me in the room before lunch, so I always need extra.
