Venice, Italy is the great monument to the Renaissance and has stood as it does today for over five hundred years. Overlooking the Grand Canal, with an incomparable view of Venice, Hotel Gritti Palace is one of the world's most celebrated hotels. The city is steeped in history, architecture and art dating from the Byzantine Empire - a series of islands connected by bridges and divided by canals of every size. Commissioned in 1525 as the residence of the Doge of Venice, Hotel Gritti Palace has welcomed kings and queens, prime ministers and presidents, and elite guests with its luxuriously appointed rooms and exceptional service.

Elegant and exquisite with original designs beautiful staff. Amazing dining experience. We will stay here again. Had dinner and drinks at the lounge our waiter Paulo he was always attentive to us. I made us feel at home. We said ALOHA!

The Gritti Palace is uniquely without equal, and everyone should hope and pray to spend at least one night — and better still 30 or 40 nights as hotel guests during a happy lifetime. The other 5 or 6 iconic, legendary, 1850-2025 ne plus ultra luxury hotels worldwide in London and Paris and New York have all adapted to changing cityscapes and clienteles. Only the Gritti Palace on the Grand Canal can convey to current guests reliably the same experiences that the most admired artists, authors, political leaders, financiers, lovers, of recent five centuries experienced. The hospitality is superb. The breakfasts unmatched. Ernest Hemingway, Igor Stravinsky, and King Charles are only three of hundreds of guests who would stay nowhere else. 😄

We have been coming to the Gritti Palace since our honeymoon 25 years ago. After several stays, it never disappoints! Everything from the location on the Grand Canal, to the understated elegance, the Gritti is one of a kind. And you just can't beat breakfast or cocktails on the Gritti Terrace overlooking the Grand Canal and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. We were a little concerned that the uniqueness and special feel of the hotel would be lost when they were acquired by Marriott a few years ago, but that simply hasn't been the case. And Ivan, the head concierge is still there and working his magic. A couple of years ago we brought our daughter with us and Ivan arranged a personalized boat tour of Venice along with a private tour of the Murano Glass factory for her birthday. It was a birthday she will never forget! Our most recent stay this month was wonderful. As expected, the staff was excellent from top to bottom and our room was perfect. December is now our favorite time to visit Venice since it felt a little like the old days without all of the crowds. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Gritti - you will not be disappointed.

The hotel is beautiful and the view is amazing. However, the staff truly set the experience apart from other properties. I would highly recommend this hotel.

It was a truly wonderful stay at The Gritti Palace. The property is beautiful and well maintained. I stayed in a Grand Canal Room, and the view of the Basilica from my window was simply breathtaking. The bar and breakfast were exceptional. They have one of the best views in all of Venice. Every staff I encountered was friendly, professional, and attentive. Special thanks to Romina for her warm welcome at check-in, Sara for kindly taking the time to show me around, and Andrea at the bar for his attention to detail and for capturing some lovely photos for us. I highly recommend the Gritti Palace.
