Can we come in?!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 hours ago

Having stayed in Marriott’s all over the world I thought we could be confident in visiting in Venice. On two separate occasions we were refused entry - both for lunch and for evening drinks - advised it was on lockdown. In 2026?! We had actually taken a water taxi past the venue on both occasions and could clearly see that this wasn’t the case. Shocking service and if you rely on exclusivity to that extent as a USP you really should be part of a chain.

Magical Venice is a reality at The Gritti Palace

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

This hotel is my Venetian dream come true! We chose this hotel based on the location, the history, and the luxury it provides and to be honest, it was better than I expected it would be. We arrived on a Friday afternoon via water taxi from the airport (such a unique experience) and were just blown away by the warmth of the team and the splendor of the hotel and our room. My husband was especially interested in the resident hawk that oversees the Gritti Terrace to prevent seagulls from swiping guests food. Definitely not something we see everyday. Our room felt like a very comfortable museum with all the sparkling Murano glass chandeliers, gorgeous textile wall coverings and ornate furniture, and the bathroom felt like a spa. The bathroom was also stocked with Acqua di Parma products which were amazing. The room had hardwood floors with a large soft rug, a very comfortable king sized bed, a sofa, large desk, tv, and the best hotel closet I’ve seen with several drawers, ample space for hanging clothes, and multiple full length mirrors. The room also had air conditioning which is a must in August. The best part of staying at The Gritti were the special gestures the team made for my birthday that happened during my stay. This was a milestone birthday for me and they went out of their way to quietly arrange a surprise in the room while we were at breakfast, of a dozen long stem roses in a vase along with birthday balloons, and a tiramisu with hand written birthday card. I truly loved it. Getting ballon’s in Venice is not as simple as most places; my husband researched them extensively before we arrived. Thank you to The Gritti for creating such a special memory for me. And this was on top of the Champagne and roses in the room upon our arrival a few days earlier. We really enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and sitting on the exterior terrace listening to the bells ring from the Basilica across the Grand canal is something I won’t forget anytime soon. Venice is so special and magical and staying at a hotel such as The Gritti Palace takes the experience to another level.

Absolutely Incredible — I Didn’t Want to Leave!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at The Gritti Palace. OMG, what a hotel! From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The hotel is stunning, the service was incredible, and the location could not be better. I was honestly so sad to leave! PROS * The staff & service: Absolutely amazing. Everyone was warm, attentive, and welcoming. The level of service was exactly what you expect from a hotel of this caliber. * The décor: WOW! The entire hotel is breathtaking. There is so much history, character, and Venetian charm. It truly feels like you are staying in a palace. * Breakfast: Outstanding. The selection and quality were excellent, and it was such a beautiful way to start each morning. * Location: THE BEST! Right on the Grand Canal and perfectly located for exploring Venice. We loved being able to walk everywhere. * Overall experience: Everything about our stay felt luxurious and special. This is one of those hotels that really adds to the experience of visiting the city. CONS * Breakfast starts at 7:30 AM: This is honestly the only negative I can come up with! I wish breakfast started a little earlier, especially for mornings when you have early tours or plans. We’ve been fortunate to stay at many beautiful luxury hotels, and The Gritti Palace is truly special. I have almost nothing negative to say about our experience. I’m actually sad leaving and wish we had stayed longer. We absolutely cannot wait to come back!

Lovely hotel near St Marks Square

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We love this hotel and have stayed there several times. In a quiet little piazza just a short 5 minute walk to St Marks Square. Rooms are 3 star but views, service and restaurant are 4 stars. Breakfasts are excellent, hotel staff is very helpful, rooms are quiet and clean.
