7 5/10 - very good with some buts

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

We enjoyed our two nights here. A stunning building with smart decor & very clean. Its position is perfect for views & sunsets. Easy to get to for airport / station. And the shuttle bus they put on into the city makes life very easy. The rooms are nice. Good aircon. Super beds & bed linen. Bathroom well appointed with quality towels & products. Breakfast was fine but just felt soulless served in a conference centre. They need to create a nicer dining experience. We didn't eat at the restaurants as they were so expensive compared to the others nearby. Our favourite was Pizzeria Al Botti ,- excellent pasta, pizza & tiramisu. You can have a meal with wine for €40/45. Staff are all very helpful & friendly - concierge especially knowledable The pool is gloriously chilled. We used it a lot. It does need a clean though - green patches needing scrubbing. We loved the music by the pool too. There are only 32 sunloungers - it was quiet when we were there, but i exoect the "2 hour max" rule would get annoying.... Pool bar drinks are daylight robbery. €35 for 2 cocktails. €32 for 2 tiny wines. We noticed the skybar menu contained houmous & crisps for €12 - that is utterly absurd. So stay here. Nice rooms. Easy for seeing the city. Eat locally & bring your savings for the drinks.

A tempting option for Venice

Had the opportunity to stay here a 2nd time. The greatest strength of this place remains its location (close to the "center" of Venice, without all the noise and pedestrian traffic). Breakfast is also a treat in terms of choices, quality of food, and service. Staffing seems better in terms of # of staff than last time (which reduced front desk waiting times) and the relocation of the Executive lounge evening reception to near the breakfast area (which I was told only happened recently) was a major improvement. Wireless also seemed better than last time. Still don't like the Disneyland feel of room decorations, the use of non-local products for toiletries, and the lack of room outlets. I didn't think I would go back, but after this time would consider again if the price is right.

Let down

We stayed here to celebrate a special birthday, but unfortunately the experience fell well short of what we would expect from a five-star hotel. On arrival, there was an issue with our booking due to a double reservation. The receptionist insisted this was our responsibility to resolve, rather than acknowledging it as a system error on the hotel’s part. After a long day of travelling, it took around 45 minutes of back-and-forth before the situation was reluctantly sorted. When we finally received our room, we then had to wait over an hour for our luggage to be delivered, despite chasing it twice. This was particularly stressful as essential medication was inside. In the end, I had to collect it myself — not the level of service one expects from a 5 star hotel. Trying to relax after our days travel, we went to the pool only to be told we needed a reservation, even though it was completely empty. This had not been mentioned at check-in and felt unnecessarily. The following day, the shower in our room leaked badly, flooding the bathroom floor and creating a serious safety hazard. To their credit, the concierge arranged a room change, but again — this should never have been necessary in a hotel of this standard. Finally, we opted to pay as we went rather than using the money put on a card at check in, yet we still had to wait seven weeks for a refund, despite following up multiple times. The only real positive was the location. Unfortunately, the lack of proactive service, poor communication, and the need to constantly chase staff for basic requests overshadowed everything else. With improvements to customer service, this hotel could live up to its five-star label — but as it stands, it certainly does not. Venice is beautiful place but unfortunately this hotel caused a lot of stress for a special occasion.

Enjoy it's amazing

So here's a sensible review for people travelling to Venice and to counter a few silly reviews which are unhelpful. 1. The staff are perfection and make the stay a delight. 2. The Pool is clearly labeled on the hotel website as needing to book 2 hour slots so everyone can use it. Not reading the website and then getting emotional in the reviews is not anyone's fault except your own. It's beautiful and the best view in Venice you could ever hope for. Ensuring booking means everyone can experience it. If you want full pool days Lido is close just stay there. 3. For my lovely American friends please remember Italy had cities of over a million people when Americans were still hunting buffalo. It's not a great look for for you to demand special treatment just because you are fed a line that Americans know best. One chap was yelling that they wanted a deckchair and didn't feel that the rules applied to him. Just enjoy being somewhere different (that's not all of you, lots of you are beautiful people) the ones I'm speaking to know who they are- well actually they probably don't and that the issue) 4. If you want to moan about how much money everything is then don't book a 5 star hotel. Is it expensive, hell yes. Is it worth it - yes. Ok so a few soft drinks will cost you $15 but there are cafes and bars 5 mins away walking, just venture outside, Venice is exciting but it's not a bargain holiday. 5. The views are beyond incredible, Venice isn't new so you get the view you get but just walk outside and you get the best view in the world and it's free. 6. The hotel is on an Island- for this that haven't done their home work Venice is mostly water and all islands, you have to get boats. The hotel boat is amazing and very frequent, but boats and quite slow (and Venice is busy so at times they may be a tad late) just chill and enjoy the sights while waiting. 7. Charging €15 euro is a bit weird for me, just include it in the price of the room far easier but it's cheap and so who cares. 8. The breakfast is amazing. Best I've seen anywhere. A few people complaining about the price but it's well worth the money. As for not doing a quite coffee option, jeez you are in Italy a country more addicted to caffeine then anywhere on earth, just walk outside it's bloody everywhere 9. The rooms are beautiful, the hotel is beautiful, the staff and wonderful, the boat drivers are polite and if you can't be bothered to learn a bit of Italian (and you should) they all speak English 10. For the grumps that moan about the smells. Venice is water, water gets a bit smelly sometimes, if that bothers you Verona is close and also nice, they can't do anything about the smell so no point in telling people it's smelly, it's also wet they can't do anything about that either. This hotel is amazing. And I wanted to defend that polite staff that have to deal with the nonsense. If you are a sensible person you will love it. If you want more stay in the Cipriani ( It will cost you $2000 a night then you really can moan about the price 🤣🤣)

Comfortable Stay with Excellent Boat Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed at the Hilton Molino Stucky and really enjoyed our time there. Our room was nice and cozy — no particular view (the windows were really small), but very quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. Check-in was a bit slow, even though there was a dedicated line for Gold members, but once that was done we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One of the real highlights is the boat service to San Marco, which makes exploring Venice incredibly convenient. The breakfast is also excellent, with a wide variety of choices. The main dining room was a little loud for our taste, but we discovered there’s a smaller, calmer room where we could sit, which was much more to our liking. We also enjoyed the fantastic view from the rooftop pool. The only drawback is that the lounging area around the pool is quite limited for the size of the hotel, so you need to reserve a two-hour slot in advance. Overall, a very comfortable stay with great amenities and superb connections to the city.
