Our stay at NH Collection Hotel Venice Madonna del Orto was unfortunately one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences we’ve had. Noise Issues: The rooms are far from soundproof. Every footstep from the room above was so loud it penetrated through earplugs and woke us repeatedly during the night. This completely ruined our rest. Guest Behavior: We encountered large, noisy groups of guests from Israel who disturbed the peace of the hotel, particularly during loud conversations in public areas. At one point, we overheard them discussing shops they boycott because those shops had expressed opinions against Israel—an uncomfortable and divisive topic that certainly did not contribute to a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast: Breakfast was repetitive and uninspired. An à la carte menu exists but is hidden from guests unless you specifically ask. When I ordered pancakes from it, two tiny, paper-thin slices arrived—not remotely worth it. Room Amenities: Only one small complimentary bottle of water was provided for two guests. The minibar prices were inflated, making it impractical to use. Hotel Boat Service: Reception offered a boat trip to Piazza San Marco for €8 per person but failed to mention it stops in Murano first. This meant we were stuck on the boat in the heat for 50 minutes—something we could have easily avoided by walking. The captain was unfriendly and unhelpful. Comfort: The pillows were rock-hard. When I requested an additional one, the receptionist simply said “no” without explanation. Room Service: Overpriced for the quality of food, plus an additional €14 service charge. Overall: This hotel was a complete waste of time, money, and energy. Between the poor service, lack of comfort, and misleading information, I cannot recommend.

Really perfect 5* historic hotel in the quiet part of Cannaregio. Go for suits with old frescoes or with garden view - to my experience, the botanical garden of the hotel is the biggest and nicest hotel garden in Venezia. The staff is very nice and helpful, breakfast impressive, bar is cosy and the restaurant (in both haut cuisine and casual dining versions) is excellent. Less than 10 minutes to lively Fondamenta de la Misericordia with shops and restaurants. There is even hotel shuttle to San Marco.

A beautiful historical hotel! Not only was the room comfortable but it had everything we needed! All the staff were helpful and inviting. The included breakfast was the best we’ve ever had with so much fruit, paste ties, hot dishes made to order! The gardens were beautiful, inviting, and fun to wander around in. The decor included beautiful Murano glass chandeliers, huge paintings, and fresh flowers everywhere! We would definitely stay here again!

It is a lovely hotel with a great location, comfortable rooms, a good breakfast, and a beautiful garden. For people who want something very close to the main tourist attractions, this might be a little away from the action. For us, it was a lovely walk down to Rialto and the Vappareto, and the airport transfer is just around the corner. We appreciate the calmer neighbourhood, and the restaurants in the area are excellent and feel authentic.

Beautiful hotel in a perfectly quiet neighborhood. Beautiful gardens and the canals on one side, ocean on the other. Lots of great restaurants and shopping nearby but not in the touristy area which was great. Breakfast was amazing!
