Palazzo Barocci

A lovely hotel with a fabulous Grand Canal location. We asked for a room with partial canal view, but we had the full view onto the front of the canal right in front of the little landing jetty! It was wonderful. We were greeted with a drink and then given a cold bottle of bubbly in our room. The reception area is smart and comfy. Breakfast area modern and includes a lovely patio / garden area and the rooms are bright and modern without the old fashioned vibe that you sometimes get in Venice. We love Venice and would recommend this hotel. It was also just yards away from the S. Angelo water bus stop, which takes you in both directions along the grand canal. Genius!

This was an excellent hotel for what we wanted - a trip for me and my two teenage daughters exploring the city for 3 days. It was amazingly good value and brilliantly located on the water bus line 1 stop plus powerful air con which was much needed in the extreme heat of the city. The room (a Junior Suite) was also spacious, really clean, and with lots of towels and even towelling robes. But it wasn't flawless and I would not expect it to be for the price. Some of the fittings were a bit shabby, the decor was 1990s chic and the shower was temperamental - moving from freezing to boiling in a nanosecond and not draining particularly well. But as a great base, it was fantastic and I'd recommend for people who are looking for that, rather than faultless luxury.

Our stay at Palazzo Barocci was amzing from start to finish. Arriving by water taxi directly at the hotel entrance felt very special, especially with no need to drag our luggage through Venice’s narrow streets. The location on the Grand Canal is extremely perfect, with the vaporetto, Alilaguna, and water taxis stopping right outside. We first stayed in a spacious Premium Room with a partial canal view and large terrace, then moved to a Junior Suite overlooking the canal. The suite was our favorite, with two balconies where we could watch boats pass, see the Rialto Bridge to our right, and enjoy beautiful sunsets over the rooftops. The historic building has plenty of charm and elegant details, while staff were welcoming, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent, including eggs made to order, and we appreciated the fruit and sweets waiting in our room. Most major sights were within a 15-minute walk. There is also a nearby traghetto gondola for crossing the canal. Wonderful hotel, unforgettable views, and lovely memories. Grazie mille!

I would give this hotel a negative star if possible. It was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. We booked a room for 3 adults. The sofa bed barely fits a small child - the front desk staff admitted this after checking in. The hotel forced me to pay in full a week before check in or they threatened to cancel my reservation even though my reservation was set up to pay at the property. After checking in and seeing the tiny sofa bed we told them that the accommodations don’t work and the hotel completely misrepresented its offering online. We requested a refund and the hotel has refused - I am now fighting them with my credit card company. Do not stay here - you will be disappointed.

Our stay at the Venezia Palazzo Barocci hotel in Venice was great! From the moment we stepped from our taxi boat directly into the hotel lobby, we loved everything about the Palazzo Barocci. The hotel sits on the Grand Canal and you can catch a taxi boat, the Vaparetto or the Alilaguna from the doorstep - so no dragging luggage through alleyways and back streets. The building is beautiful, with lots of decorative features reflecting it's history, and we loved our balcony that looked onto the Grand Canal. We booked a Premium Room (with partial canal view) for our first few days and a Junior Suite (with canal view) for our final days. The Premium room was large and had a large terrace, but the Junior Suite was the winner for us and we loved being able to stand on our balconies (there were actually 2!) and watch the world drift by on the canal below. To the right we could see the Rialto bridge and then the sun set over the buildings in front of us. Really nice memories! We also really appreciated the service too. The hotel was welcoming and the staff were responsive and helpful. Breakfast was good (with eggs made to order) and we enjoyed the welcome fruits and sweets in the room. The hotel is close to the Rialto bridge, well located for other tourist sites (never really more than a 15 minute walk) and being in front of a stop for all the different boats was super helpful. (Top tip: there is a Traghetto gondola close to the hotel. This made it easy to cross to the other side and also gave a quick gondola experience too!) But the main thing was the view over the Grand Canal - we loved this and staying in the Venezia Palazzo Barocci was wonderful. Grazie mille!
