Shockingly Poor Experience During My Honeymoon

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Our stay at the San Clemente Kempinski Hotel was probably one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in a very long time, even including hotels that are 5x cheaper. The first issue was that the air conditioning in the room did not work, rendering the room absolutely unbearable to be in. Even when the temperature outside was significantly cooler, the room was so hot it was uncomfortable to sleep. We did not get a full night's sleep for our entire stay. The windows have large warnings on them not to keep them open, as the island has a lot of mosquitos--however, even after leaving the window open the room would not cool down. We complained with increasing intensity every night, to be met with different excuses that directly contradicted each other with no solutions. Every other request at the front desk was similarly met with lies and shrugs--we asked for three nights in a row for an extra international converter and mosquito repellent, which were promised each night and never delivered. Truly an outrageous experience for the cost. Do not stay here if you expect to receive even basic service from the reception desk, or if you'd like to have a relaxing night's sleep, especially in the summer. Do not stay here if you don't want to repeat simple requests for the entirety of your stay to no avail. Definitely don't stay here on your honeymoon like we did. Every other hotel in Italy we stayed in was significantly better.

Big mistake to come during the races

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I really do not recommend this hotel during any events. And in general, he left the most unpleasant impressions of his holiday in Venice. The hotel website says that there is a private charter, since the hotel is located on an island. I wrote a request for a charter - no one responded. Over the phone they told me that the charter costs 260 euros one way, plus 120 euros for car parking for 2 days, a total of 640 euros for transfer and parking. A little expensive in my opinion, at 750 euros per night? Yes, there is a free transfer from Piazza San Marco. But we waited for him for 1.5 hours. Since it was constantly postponed and rescheduled, as I was told, due to racing. Upon arrival, we stood in line for a long time to check in, and by the way, we stood in line for even longer at check out. We couldn't have dinner because there was no free table for us in the restaurant (only one restaurant for the biggest hotel in Venezia!!!). Bar food is terrible. At such prices it is very strange. For example, a glass of juice - 14 euros. Breakfast is very poor for such a hotel. So I would think very hard before coming back here.

the website looks perfect. The team is very nice, the hotel is superb but.. but do not have any trouble, they do not solve anything. We had cold water 50% of our stay. no hot shower. They just said we were in the bad room. sorry. But they sell this room 5000 euros per week !!! same for the pictures of the website. some of the facilities does not work and for a long time so be very careful

Luca

The entrance to the hotel arriving by boat was absolutely magical and the staff at the front desk were very welcoming. One of the highlights of our trip was the service we received from Luca, he was always so friendly, provided incredible service and even recommended things to do while we were in Venice!

Romantic Hotel on a quiet island.

Perfect hotel, everything was more than good. Nice to take the boat to Venice every day from the hotel island. The food was excellent and the room was perfect. In short, an excellent romantic location with a huge garden and old church. Very friendly staff.
