About the Hotel

On one side the placid waters of the lagoon, and on the other the mysterious alleyways of Venice, leading to two of the city’s most stunning modern museums, the Peggy Guggenheim and the new Punta della Dogana. A period palace with an elaborate Gothic façade, but when you step inside you find yourself projected into a future in which each item of the decor has been designed exclusively for your pleasure.

We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic hotel and amazing restaurant. Great location away from the crowds but easy one stop boat ride across to shopping. Very professional staff!

Great service, beautiful property, mixed location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel property itself and the staff here were amazing. Beautiful building and artwork, with a very nice waterfront restaurant and courtyard perfect for evening drinks. We were somewhat disappointed by our room. Granted we did book the Classic, or lowest level room, but we found it to be very dated. The room showed a lot of wear and tear, especially in the bathroom. Overall, the room quality did not seem to be consistent with the price paid. The location is away from the crowds, which has its pluses and minuses. We found that it was very quiet most of the time, but it will make traveling to the rest of the city a challenge. We found the city’s ferry service at the nearby Salute stop to be unreliable at best and the gondola service that crosses the Grand Canal near the hotel closes very early. We ended up walking much more than expected. Not at all the hotel’s fault, but something to be aware of. We were also disappointed on our arrival day to learn the grand canal was closed for an event, which required us to carry our luggage through the city to get to the hotel. We would have appreciated an advance notice from the hotel so we could have made a different arrival plan.

Great location away from crowds.

Great location away from the crowds. Very attentive staff and lovely bar with picturesque canal view. Art district and just around the corner from Guggenheim museum. Concierge was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and transportation. Wife and I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel with an excellent restaurant and a great location.

This hotel is very beautiful, wish wonderful artworks all over the property, and a great view of the Grand Canal and the fabled Gritti Palace. The Antinoo restaurant is superb and everyone who works there is lovely. The reception desk had varying levels of helpfulness, but everything else had a very high standard. Please note that a discretionary tip is placed on your bill at check-out, which you do not have to pay if you don't want to. It's a bit embarrassing to ask to have it taken off, but it can be done. I think it would be far more effective for staff to ask, after going through your bill, if you would like to add a tip. One is much more inclined to say yes if asked politely, than when faced with a fait-accompli when presented with it. But these are really minor hick-ups in an otherwise lovely hotel. The Antinoo restaurant was the highlight.

Beautiful property and excellent service

This hotel is a beautiful property! The rooms are so nice and clean, too. But be careful in the shower. I accidentally stepped on removable stainless steel drain in our shower and it popped up, causing me to fall to my knees. It was a fast, hard fall.
