SINA Centurion Palace

Overall, stunning hotel in an amazing location. However the room was fairly small and the design wasn’t fantastic. That said, breakfast was great and staff were very friendly. The room was quite ‘compact’ but had everything we needed. It was impeccably clean. However, there was the strangest partition at the one end which created a separate wardrobe/desk area but was dark and dingy. Unfortunately that removed probably 1 metre of depth from the room. There was coffee making and a lovely few complimentary chocolates. The turn-down service was lovely. The bathroom looked great but the shower had a small tiled section in the centre of the floor, surrounded by a border of removable drains around the perimeter which ‘collapsed’/moved everything you stood on them making the shower quite dangerous. We didn’t complain as this is just the design - and we were fine as a fit couple. However, for older people, this would be awful (maybe avoid room 501). Breakfast was really nice. Lots of selection and generally the staff were friendly and welcoming. The Philippine lady serving breakfast deserves a shout-out as someone who was really warm, attentive and professional. Grazie. The location of the hotel is perfect. It’s away from the crowds of the centre, but close enough to pop into the tourist areas. €2 to cross the grand canal by gondola or there’s a bridge a 5 minute walk which is free. TRANSFERS FROM AIRPORT There are lots of ways to get from the airport ranging from a private taxi boat (which takes about 30-40 minutes) and costs €160 for up to six passengers each way; a public water taxi which is €18 each person, each way direct from the airport to about a 7-8 minute walk to the hotel but takes about 75-90 minutes. If you only have a small bag/hand luggage and are happy to walk for 20-25 minutes to Piazzale Roma, there are at least two cheap options: there is a public bus which is €10 per person which makes lots of stops and takes around 30mins or a coach (ATVO) which goes direct to airport terminal and costs €12 per person each way. Both Marco Polo airport and Treviso have dedicated buses. We took the public water taxi on the way (€36 between us) and it took around 90 minutes from the terminal to the front desk of the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this as it was sweaty in the August heat and took a long time. My preference would be the coach and then a stroll through Venice streets which we did on the way back (€24 between us) and took around 40-45 minutes from checking-out of the hotel to arriving at the airport which included the walk. This probably isn’t advisable if you’ve got a large bag(s). If there are 4+ of you, or a family with lots of luggage, the private boat transfer would be the best. You also get dropped off directly at the hotel jetty. We had free breakfast a Hilton Diamond members but our Hilton loyalty wasn’t mentioned otherwise. We didn’t get an upgraded room, or at least if we did, this wasn’t mentioned.

I want to start off by saying the service was incredible and saved the experience for me. But that's where the positives stopped. The quality of the rooms is not even close to being worth how much this hotel costs. Mold from floor to ceiling in and around the shower. Ventilation isn't compatible with the size or design of the rooms so some parts get very hot. Air is obstructed for aesthetic purposes. The walls are VERY thin. I could hear an average volume conversation almost perfectly through my wall that I was 6 feet away from. I'm sure the rave reviews about this place are heavily influenced by the extremely helpful staff and free champagne delivery to your room. If you're between this hotel and another one, go with the other one.

We had a wonderful experience at Centurion Palace. The service was top-notch and the rooms were very clean and spacious. I highly recommend to anyone traveling here with their significant other because it’s very romantic and quiet.

Very nice location. Staff is great and helpful, always pleasant. Room is great and spacious, breakfast has good selection. Highly recommended! I lived the live music as well in the restaurant at night. Walkable to lots of places or just take water taxi! Will go back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sina Centurion hotel; the staff was the best part of the visit, they were polite, attentive and always available to assist with any question or asks for assistance. The hotel is across from the very busy San Marco area but close enough to either cross over with a gondola or short walk via the Academia bridge. The hotel has a nice small terrace overlooking the grand canal and the food and drinks were very good; we had lunch at dinner at the hotel, both were very good. The rooms are comfortable but Venice sized, comfortable beds and very quiet neighborhood so sleep was very easy. Overall great hotel in a good location made even better by a great staff.
