Splendid Venice

Great central location, ideal for exploring Venice's landmarks like St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge.Hotel is maintained clean and comfortable rooms, a bit dated. Splendid offers a charming atmosphere and attentive service.

Beautiful hotel. Room was just perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was just what we wanted to set us up for the day ahead. Was lovely to sit and watch the gondolas go past the window. Less than 5 mins from Rialto bridge one way and St Marks the other.

The hotel is in a very good central location, just 3 minutes walk from St. Mark's square. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The staff is nice and polite. What made us feel uncomfortable was the lack of heating. At the end of October the temperature was below 10 degrees at night, but the heating system was not turned on. They brought a fan heater to the room, but it was very noisy, we couldn't sleep because of it, so we turned off. Not only in the rooms, but also in the restaurant and bar it was very cold, people were having breakfast in their coats. There was an american tourist group and they also complained about being cold at night. This is unacceptable from a hotel of this standard for 700 euros per night

We recently spent 4 nights at the Splendid Hotel and we were very happy with our stay. We got upgraded to a suite which was lovely, lots of space and it looked out over the canal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was delicious, I recommend the eggs Benedict. Fantastic location, close to all the sights- restaurants and cafes. I would definitely stay again.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Splendid, the last leg of our 12 day trip to Italy (Rome and Florence were the other cities we visited). We were very pleased with the Splendid and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Highlights: 1. Advance email communication was great. 2. Fantastic location - on a canal, close to Rialto Bridge, close to St. Mark's square, close to tons of shops, restaurants and cafes. 3. Spacious and nicely appointed room (Jr Suite). 4. Excellent breakfast buffet with large selection (the best of all our hotel stays in Italy). 5. Nice common seating areas with an upscale feel. 5. The young lady at Guest Services (sorry, didn't get her name) was super helpful on several occasions and was very, very pleasant. A gold star employee! One negative - no fitness center. I did try out a local fitness center that I found online but it was not in a very convenient location, it was very hard to find, it was super small and cramped, and it was expensive for what you got, at 20 euros for a day pass.
