Floating gondolas, the chime of ancient church bells, and romantic piazzas make Venice such a treasured Italian destination. Splendid Venice, part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts and a member of the Preferred Hotel Group, was built during the 16th century. Located between St. Mark's Square and the landmark Rialto Bridge, this historic hideaway features 165 guestrooms. The hotel has been completely refurbished, maintaining a traditional Venetian presence coupled with contemporary appointments. Walls are cloaked in pearl gray with hand-painted wisteria accents. Lush velvets and cool silk textiles, which cover headboards and furnishings, add a most luxurious touch. The hotel's private docks jut out into the canals, allowing guests to disembark from gondolas and water taxis with ease.

All the staff were really friendly and really helpful. The food was great The room had more than enough space. The manager was super helpful when I asked for somewhere to wax my board. I tried to find a complaint about this place and all I could come up with was that the cleaner moved my balcony beers into the afternoon sun. First world problems right! IMPORTANT: Don't walk down the hill to get to the ski lift. Walk directly accross the road from the hotel then ski/board like 50m to the lift. Same thing when coming home, you dont wanna walk up that hill after a day on the slopes.

Just got back from a weekend at splendid but I wish I could say it was splendid - checked into room 207 on the 2nd floor -.room was nicely decorated but lacked a view - had a lovely view of a concrete wall through the folding door- we went to make a coffee after the journey only to find the coffee machine was not working - a replacement machine was brought after about 1 hour - my biggest disappointment was we ordered a superior double room for me and my wife only to find 3 single beds in the room - 2 of which had been pushed together and still used single bedding - beds were not comfy at all - went down to reception to be told no other rooms available- NOT HAPPY !!!! And to top it off the batteries went in the tv control - changed within 15 mins of phoning down to reception Breakfast was the only good part of the stay Breakfast staff were very efficient Not a great stay at all - wont be going back in a hurry

Stayed here for family vacation. Really nice boutique hotel located very centrally on a side canal and close to the key sites to see. Staff was great hotel is charming and clean. Terrific breakfast buffet and lobby bar for evenings. Completely recommend.

The breakfast was sufficient, and the hotel was spacious and very clean. Its location is excellent, as it is very close to the city center and within walking distance of most attractions. The rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. After arriving in central Venice, it may be a bit challenging to reach the hotel on foot, but taking a water taxi through the canals adds a unique and enjoyable experience.

Favorite hotel. Right on a canal with gondolas going by all day. Took water taxi right to hotel dock. Perfect location. Steps from San Marco Piazza and 5 minutes to Rialto Bridge. Very best staff. Sophisticated Old World charm with modern rooms. The best!
