About the Hotel

Founded in the early Twenties with the name Select Palace Hotel, in 1925 it was extended by two floors and embellished by the magnificent façade that harmonizes the central part. Time has transformed it into a Grand Hotel of international fame that is the preferred residence of aristocrats, intellectuals, and artists alike. Rechristened the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in 1938, its grandeur has captured the attention of countless directors becoming the scene for prestigious cinematographic productions. Restored to the height of its splendor in 2004, after 19 months of restoration, today the Principe is unquestionably one of the world’s most historic and elegant hotels. The Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte has 102 rooms and suites laid out across five themed floors either with a sea view or looking out at the Apuan Alps with every modern comfort and offering truly excellent service. The rooftop terrace is situated on the top floor of the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, a stunning location with a magnificent pool overlooking the sea of Versilia.

A Classic Hotel!

The Principe is truly a classic European 5-star hotel with a wonderful staff, and without question one of the best buffet breakfasts in the world! Special mention, Vicki at the rooftop pool making your stay that much more unforgettable. Magnifico!

Un vrai prince a l’avenue des rois….

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My family knows the hotel since the 1960s. It’s changed since then, of course. But it’s still beautiful, situated in an ideal spot with easy access to other cities, town center, shops, restaurants and beaches. Of course, the breakfast buffet is fantastic in the selection and quality of foods. The roof restaurants and bar are good though I found the bar lacking in service and nuts this time… The famous restaurant is as good as Michelin says! Service overall, reception, rooms, etc. is very efficient. Part of a beautiful scene.

Beautiful hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte. The hotel is beautiful, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout my stay. I truly enjoyed my visit and would gladly recommend the hotel. However, there was one incident on my first day that was never properly resolved. During the welcome reception, one of the waitresses accidentally spilled liquid on my very expensive suede shoes. She apologized and told me that someone from the hotel would come to my room to collect the shoes for professional cleaning. Unfortunately, no one ever came. I waited, but nobody contacted me or followed up during the rest of my stay. I completed my stay and checked out without anyone from the hotel reaching out to me about the incident. I tried to clean the shoes myself, but because they are made of suede, the liquid left a permanent stain. I completely understand that accidents can happen, and I do not blame the waitress for the accident itself. What disappointed me was the hotel’s lack of follow-up and the fact that no effort was made to resolve the situation after they promised they would. Aside from this incident, everything else during my stay was excellent. I hope this feedback helps improve the way similar situations are handled in the future.

Family Beach Trip

Absolutely the nicest hotel we have ever visited. Their service was incredible, friendly and well trained. They made us feel like family! Not to mention, the best breakfast buffet we have ever enjoyed. Their atmosphere, location and amenities were the best in Italy and we have been traveling to Italy for over 15 years. We highly recommend!

Stunning Decor, Extraordinary breakfast and Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Lovely location on wide Avenue with view of sea, the decor is stunning, impressive modern art, design and spotless. Staff are charming and efficient and in particular the lovely Abigail in the breakfast dinning room, the Maitre d of the divine rooftop restaurant and the wonderful elegant knowledgeable lady in charge of the gorgeous pool. Breakfast utterly sublime and the best we have had outside of Ireland. The choice and quality of cuisine was tops!
