Founded in the early Twenties with the name Select Palace Hotel, in 1925 it was extended by two floors and embellished by the magnificent façade that harmonizes the central part. Time has transformed it into a Grand Hotel of international fame that is the preferred residence of aristocrats, intellectuals, and artists alike. Rechristened the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in 1938, its grandeur has captured the attention of countless directors becoming the scene for prestigious cinematographic productions. Restored to the height of its splendor in 2004, after 19 months of restoration, today the Principe is unquestionably one of the world’s most historic and elegant hotels. The Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte has 102 rooms and suites laid out across five themed floors either with a sea view or looking out at the Apuan Alps with every modern comfort and offering truly excellent service. The rooftop terrace is situated on the top floor of the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, a stunning location with a magnificent pool overlooking the sea of Versilia.

Where traditional elegance brings modern luxury at this most wonderful hotel. The location is gorgeous on the fabulous Viareggio beach with a magnificent roof top pool overlooking the beautiful beach and marble moutains. The staff were exceptional attentive and made our stay even more special. The rooms are spacious with fabulous service. The breakfast is a highlight not only with wonderful service but exceptional food and variety. The 2 Michelin star restaurant certainly lives up to its stars withe both the service and wonderful food being a taste sensation. Excellent location close to the Cinque Terra and Pisa. We will be back and an absolute must.

WOWSA may not be Italian but it is the experience at the KING of Viareggio. Prince is not a worthy enough title! Visiting a friend was enhanced by this jewel on the beach ( across the street from their beach club) and it really made our trip to Viareggio. The city itself is a main beach attraction for mostly Italians to summer as the beach is HUGE and the "Prince" is setup to rule the beach. Old school elegance with a TOP staff. Chiara as a concierge is very eager to help ( Emma's Gelato was fantastic recommendation for an afternoon scoop) and so many of the others, especially the breakfast crew is awesome. From the fist smile at the hostess desk; front desk and all areas of the hotel you are really at home. Did I say breakfast? HOLY COW ( that is Italian) is the "included" breakfast that is by far the most extravagant event I have witnessed. This is over the top luxurious and they have thought of everything. REALLY well done and again, staff is as good as the food! Top pool is not meant to be a "pool" per se as it is only 30 something inches deep but enough to cool off as you lounge in luxury to view the city, beach, sunset all the while you sip away at a Spritz....BY THE WAY, get the Venturo Spritz. Amazing. Impressed by a two star Michelin chef yet we did not dine in this first floor room. Rather, we opted for the more casual top floor dining which was IMPRESSIVE. Pizza was "perfecto" and the seafood pasta incredible. Chef was kind enough to come out and explain and detail several questions. Molto bene!! Our sea side standard King was upgraded to a Sea Side Suite ( Grazie) and was large and well appointed. Classic elegance. The only recommendation for the hotel is to turn down the air freshener which was quite pungent in the room. More subtle. A must stay if you are in this town, there buying a yacht, slabs of marble from Calabria or walking/hiking Cinque Terra. Don't miss this King.

Stunning gem of a place in Varieggio, along the beautiful coast. Ultimate luxury in every sense. Most important gracious hospitality. amazing restaurent terrace with sea view, most delicious grilled seafood. Brunch is out of this word with variety including sushi bar and all kinds of delicacy. Rooftop pool is absolutely stunning. So happy we found this piece of heaven and didn’t stay in touristy places like Portofino. Entire staff and management team are like a family, from our first encounter with lovely Martina who ushered us into a beautiful drawing room for the smoothest seamless check in and showed us the most beautiful suite, with every possible modern amenity and decor. So many pieces of art and sculptor you feel like you are in a museum. Chef Giuseppe Mancini has created the most delectable culinary heaven and he stands around his lovely breakfast buffet like a proud papa.

This hotel exceeded all my expectations in every possible way from our arrival to our departure. The hotel provides opulent surroundings, rooftop pool and restaurants with delicious food. The breakfast is the best I have ever experienced in my life. Offering a multitude of choices from sushi, scampi, cheeses from different regions in Italy and France, delectable sweets, fruits, several different breads and egg choices. The tea station was also a lovely surprise. Chef Giuseppe also went around offering freshly made ricotta to guests. The room was spotless and roses were given every night at turndown service. The bathroom products were amazing and the slippers were plush. The balcony had a wonderful view of the promenade and beach. The hotel bikes also were a pleasant surprise to ride along the promenade and see the endless beach clubs. Our stay at this beautiful hotel will be forever cherished. Grazie Mille!
