Our second stay here before new years (was last here in summer in a 1 BR suite) in a renovated 2Queen bed Victoria room redeemed through iprefer program (great loyalty program to sign up for!). Super friendly staff Irfan at check in and Michael at the superb Fathom restaurant, and health club/pool staff. If you want a grand hotel experience with all the amenities, look no further. It was also awesome that they had over 30 intricately designed gingerbread houses for a charity contest in the lobby. Check it out! We parked on the street. The pool and hot tub were great. We got the $25 adult breakfast voucher at check in (you save on a beverage but don’t forget to tip on top of the total!); the kids breakfast is $14 and always amazing. Love the mushroom Benedict. The room was super comfortable and clean but our room was just above the pool so there was a chlorine smell but I didn’t notice it after the first minute. Few hotels have actual opening balconies with doors or windows so it’s great to be able to get fresh air. Nothing else I could ask for! Don’t hesitate to book!

I think we found our new go to Hotel when visiting Victoria. My wife and I usually always stay at the Inn at Laurel Point, but the convenience of it's location and price changed our minds. We decided to try something new for our last visit for Christmas. They had priority reservations for guests to attend Christmas brunch or dinner, so we went with the Hotel Grand Pacific. It was an amazing choice for us. The Vicroria City view Suite was amazing.

Yes we were travelling during the holiday season, however having to stand in line for 25 minutes to be able to speak to a representative to check in only to be told that our rooms weren't ready was bit much. Check in is at 4:00 you know how many people are going to be checking in so bring in more staff. Our room wasn't ready until after 5:00. We had a family dinner reservation planned for 5:00 so had to move it to a later time so we could receive our room keys. Public can park all day for $14.00 and we have to pay $23.00 plus tax because we stay overnight? To me that seems a bit much. On a positive note the hotel is in a great location and rooms were clean.

Conveniently located within the bustling Inner Harbour, the Hotel Grand Pacific is one of Victoria’s premier hotels, perhaps only behind the iconic Empress. Exuding a sophisticated blend of modernity and elegance, the Hotel Grand Pacific is an ideal home base for vacation or business travelers. I had the pleasure of patronizing this hotel on business and quite enjoyed my stay. As noted, the location of Hotel Grand Pacific is more than ideal and difficult to beat both in terms of convenience and beauty. From the perspective of convenience, you are literally a stone’s throw away from the Royal BC Museum, historic Government Street and BC Legislature buildings. Being pretty much within Victoria’s downtown core, you’re also just a few minutes’ walk from The Bay Centre, beautiful Old Town, and countless eateries – both budget friendly and high end. If you’re down for a few extra steps, historic Chinatown is approximately 15 minutes away by foot. In short, you’re within easy striking distance from a lot that beautiful Victoria has to offer. I quite like the Hotel Grand Pacific. Even though the lobby is adorned with chandeliers and there’s plenty of marble to go around, the hotel doesn’t give off a “stuffy” hoity-toity vibe. I think much of this has to do with the staff. During my interactions with them – be it the front desk or folks in the restaurant – they were nothing but pleasant and courteous. Clearly the staff @ Hotel Grand Pacific understand the important role of good customer service to guest experience. It enhances one’s stay tenfold! With respect to services, the Hotel Grand Pacific offers up a swimming pool, gym facilities and an in-house restaurant. I did not partake in the pool or gym, but the restaurant (Fathom) is pretty great. Going for an upscale vibe, the gastronomic delights of BC’s west coast are on full display. I had the sablefish and really enjoyed it! Just be aware that prices are on the higher end, but the quality of the food certainly justifies it. A nice surprise: When I originally booked my room, I selected a standard Harbour View room; however, upon check-in, I was notified that I was given an upgrade to a Victoria Suite! How awesome is that? Separate living room, separate bedroom, private balcony overlooking the harbour, and plenty of space! Of course, the room was also fitted with all of the modern amenities we’ve come to expect of contemporary hotels: mini fridge, WiFi, charging ports, smart TVs and a delightful safe! The room was lovely. Admittedly, I was looking forward to a restful sleep on the king-size bed; unfortunately, this is where the Hotel Grand Pacific loses some points for me. For such a high level hotel, the bed was solid. I would’ve been far better off sleeping on the couch (which turns into a pullout bed). Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The Hotel Grand Pacific is in an excellent location; the staff are personable; the in-house restaurant is very good; and the rooms are beautifully appointed. It’s just a shame the bed was so hard!

My biggest complaint is this was the hardest best I've ever slept on. Was like sleeping on a carboard box. And that the front staff did not seem to think this should be mentioned at check in to guests. I commented about it upon checkout and was told I could request a mattress topper (thank you). However I think the hotel should be upfront to advise guests at check in so that toppers can be arannged at the very onset. I think this is a shortfall of the hotel by not being upfront about that as it is a frequent comment it seems and I was made to feel like it was my fault for not speaking up sooner. Other than that, beautiful hotel, clean room, friendly staff, restaurant service was friendly and attentive. I don't think I would chose to stay here again because the bed was absolutely uncomfortable and affected my rest so greatly unfortunately.

Fantastic staff, great location - what more could you ask for?! The kids loved the cookies and milk they got room serviced in the evenings.
