I almost passed on this hotel because I thought it was too expensive, but I am so glad we stayed here. It ended up not costing much more per night than many other hotels and it was worth every penny. The hotel was a perfect base for exploring Victoria for six days. We didn’t need a car and could walk everywhere we wanted to go except Butchart Gardens and the airport. Everything else was very easy to get to - the harbor, shopping, great restaurants, Bacon Hill Park, parliament, the museum, Chinatown, etc. The Magnolia is elegant without being pretentious. We enjoyed lattes and the paper from the lobby every morning, L’Occitane toiletries, and chocolates and tea in our room every evening. The staff were amazing - they helped us easily extend our stay due to an emergency and were always available to offer suggestions for the day. Our room was kept very clean and was always perfectly restocked. Overall, we felt very at home and well taken care of at the Magnolia and plan to stay again in the future. Victoria is a magical place and the Magnolia makes it perfect.

We have stayed here several times and it is always just right -- seems to get even better with each visit. Rooms are well appointed without being over the top, great beds, robes, linens. Incredibly quiet for being so close to so much activity. Staff is professional, friendly, helpful. Overall, the hotel manages to be elegant but low-key, doesn't try too hard. Can't wait for our next visit.

A lovely hotel tucked away from main area , but still only a few minutes walk to the main shopping street and wharf. An easy 5 min walk to the sea plane and water taxis . A few minute walk to city explorer bus stop and Empress hotel . We had a corner room which was spacious and comfortable . Would have like guest laundry facilities . A very comfortable stay .

We had an excellent experience at The Magnolia Hotel. This will without a doubt be our hotel of choice when staying in Victoria in the future. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly, and little touches like the high end Nespresso machines available to guests in both the rooms and lobby, as well as Dyson blow dryers and Peloton bike in the gym, were much appreciated.

This is a nice, but vastly overrated and overpriced hotel. It is newish, with comfortable rooms in a good location. Beyond the spa and very weak fitness room, there are none of the amenities one would expect of a five or even four star hotel. We notice big gaps in service and young, undertrained staff - a weakness for a boutique hotel. While the location is good, views are not great. Weak entrance doors to the room and rattle when other guests open theirs. Overall, a good but not nearly excellent hotel
