The hotel is so classic, but I loved the whole experience. PROS: - Amazing recreation staff, they are so supportive and friendly. - Located in the heart of Vienna city center, close to opera house, shops and restaurants. close to all attractions and tourist places. - Close to metro station - Concierge is available. - Well decorated room, and perfectly organized. - Loved the classic details in my room with lovely view to the main street I totally recommend this hotel to all and sure I will be back whenever I’m in Vienna.

Unfortunately, I can only say two good things about this hotel. It is in a great location and has great concierges. We paid a bundle for a 1 bedroom suite. They gave us suite 650. It should not be sold to anyone. It has virtually NO windows. The LR has a sloped ceiling and the bedroom, while very large, has tiny, tiny widows and a flagpole is mounted on its roof. When the wind blows, as it did all one night, you hear the flagpole lines clanging against the flagpole. The bathroom is a menace! The shower is in the ancient tub that has a very high step-over. We called the desk as soon as we saw it and asked for a non-skid mat to put in the tub. They said they'd bring an extra towel that we could put in the tub to keep from slipping. The water pressure for hot water was almost non-existent. It was impossible to get any force in the shower unless you wanted a very cold one. This was supposed to be a great stay in a great hotel, and was a huge disappointment. It ended up being, "Thank God we are leaving!' This is NOT a 5-star or even a 4-star hotel, yet it charges as if it were one. There are plenty of hotels in good locations in Vienna, try one of them, not the Bristol.

This was an outstanding stay. If you are looking for a classical, elegant, luxury hotel, this is the place. The fact that we were upgraded to a fantastic suite was extremely appreciated but not that definitive to this review. The staff at this hotel knows how to treat a customer like royalty. I believe first impressions are important. The Doorperson dressed in Top Hat and Tails, the reception desk and the bell person where all welcoming, attentive to our needs. We ate dinner there one night and were catered to and felt like family. The sommelier could not be nicer selecting an Austrian wine that matched our entrees. The also have a very fun and lively bar. Finally, I should mention their location. If you are interested in exploring the town center, I do not believe there is a more convenient place to stay. This was one of the two best hotels we enjoyed on our three week journey.

If youre after old-fashioned elegance, this is the place. a wonderfully classy feel to it all. comfortable rooms, an excellent, friendly staff ...the concierge staff are first class arrangers and advisors. its rather high priced, but also high quality. a tip ... when ordering room service, dont be limted just by what the menu offers ... they can whip up almost anything. one suggestion ... the showers in some of the rooms are not designed fr seniors ... it can be difficult getting in and out. my solution .... use the shower in the gym ... its a simple walk in/walk out setup..

This was a terrific experience and way above what we expected. Having booked through Lastminute.com, and not paid extra for an upgrade, we anticpated an OK room (maybe facing the inner stairwell) in a good hotel. In fact we got a superb room, with tons of space, a balcony onto the main street, massive bed, separate bath tub and shower, and even an extra little room for your luggage! Even though the room was facing the main street it was quiet and we could watch the Viuenna marathon from there. Very handy for the opera (over the road) and all the main tourist sights are within easy walking distance. The room and the hotel itself ooze the period character of fin de siecle Vienna. All very stylish and uxuruious with loads of character. Even the interior of the lift/elevator was worth a photo! Breakfast was excellent and we got a complimentary bottle of chamnpagne when we arirved. All the porters, concierge and check-in staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a wonderful stay!
