Hotel Sacher Vienna

I have stayed at this hotel on previous occasions and had been well pleased. After a few years absence due to covid etc I returned this last Christmas season. I was a bit shocked that a standard room now cost what a suite had last time I was there. I paid extra for a "view" room, only to find I was on the side of the building on the top floor with a "view" of the roof of the building across the street. A total misrepresentation. The room was large and the furnishings nice if not dated. No decorations of note. A huge toilet room, with nothing in it but a toilet, a huge waste of space. Christmas decorations in the lobby were a fraction of what was on display the last time I had visited. Staff were nice, the hotel was clean, and housekeeping did a good job. That said I did not feel that the experience justified over 1300 euro per night. Last time I was there I had a small suite for 800. That is a 100% price increase in 4 years. I guess it will be the Imperial next time.

This hotel is stunning! My friend and I went for the spa and it was an amazing experience! They outdid our expectations with little chocolates and fruit and tea immediately following our massage. Then a bottle of champagne came out!!! We also asked to try their sacher cake they are known for and the brought a small sample. It was pure delight. The sauna and steam room and waiting rooms were so nice!! The staff and manager Christie were so accommodating. A great experience.

What an amazing place this is. My neighbour recommended I stay here. And I’m glad we took up on his recommendation. This is old world elegance. The essence is in the detail - and the attention to detail. The rooms are amazing. Well set out. And the bathroom was out of this world. We enjoyed the varying bards and restaurants that the Sacher had to offer. The location is excellent. The Staats Oper is literally across the street. We attended a Mozart Concert which was excellent. The biggest joy of our stay were the staff. They genuinely wanted to work at The Sacher. Each was so helpful. A special shout out to Simon who assisted greatly with a lost luggage situation. Thank you. We shall return.

how can one summarize the experience at The Sacher ? it is not the most modern hotel, not the most romantic hotel, not the most designed hotel, but a UNIQUE palace where at the moment you enter you already feel at home. and thats how you recognize an exceptional hotel. Spent 5 nights there and I cannot wait to simply be back and enjoy each moment inside and around the hotel. if there is one hotel that is the symbol of Vienna, it is the Sacher.

I recently spent a week at this fabulous hotel and every element was perfect. My life dream had been to visit Vienna with this idea of perfection in my head, and chose to stay at this hotel to make my dream come true and wow was it special! I had a view of the Albertina and the room was just gorgeous! Perfection is the best word I have to describe this hotel, from the decor, the location, the service. Everything was amazing, so thank you so much for making my dream come true. I loved it so much I will visit again, with my mother, as I know she will love Vienna and this wonderful hotel. Danke.
