Our trip got off to a rocky start. Our daughter’s checked bag didn’t make it, and the hotel didn’t have our reservation. But the desk personnel quickly resolved the hotel issue by giving us a very large suite at no extra charge. The concierge tracked the missing luggage over 4 days(!), and recommended a good store where she could buy some clothes to get through those days. The lounge/bar staff and the dining room staff were excellent. Due to the help of the staff our trip to Vienna was a success.

Excellent experience. Located in Vienna‘s first district, at Schottenring. Hotel offers excellently appointed rooms, an excellent gym, an equally excellent spa and pool. Food is also excellent, with breakfast being outstanding. Guest relations top notch!

We had the most incredible experience at Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna with their private masterclass making traditional Viennese apple strudel with patisserie chef Pierre Zani. I arranged this experience as a birthday surprise for my husband, as he has always dreamed of visiting Vienna and learning how to make authentic apple strudel. It truly could not have been any better. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special and luxurious. We were welcomed with beautiful cakes, drinks, balloons, and refreshments, which instantly set the tone for a memorable experience. The attention to detail was outstanding. Chef Pierre Zani was absolutely fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about his craft. He guided us through every step of the process, explaining the history and techniques behind traditional Viennese apple strudel. All ingredients were perfectly prepared and pre-weighed, making the experience both enjoyable and relaxed. What made it even more special was that our 9-year-old daughter absolutely loved it too. She was fully engaged and had such a wonderful time. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough. If you are looking for a truly special culinary experience in Vienna ! 10/10

Room wasn’t ready when I arrived. I was asked to wait about 15 mins — not even a glass of water offered! After 45 mins I went for an update. The person who asked me to wait had finished his shift. The new person checked me in. The room was cold. Heating off. The preferences requested in advance ignored. Heating was loud! Room service was difficult to use. The order didn’t go through well. Soup was fine but gnocchi was weird. At night after turning fan speed low there as a strange bleeping sound. Lighting was inconvenient and options not good. Minibar light didn’t turn off properly. In the morning, coffee machine not working. Problems with shower reported to hotel. At checkout they removed most extras from my bill and sounded like they cared. But a 5* in Vienna shouldn’t be like this.
