We stayed at the property 3 years ago. We have also eaten at the restaurant multiple times and have witnessed the lamentable decline in service. When you compare the incredibly gorgeous location this property sits on with the lack of even basic business strategies like updating their Google page to correctly reflect their operating hours, the dichotomy is astounding. So sad because it has great potential that is being wasted

We made a reservation for a group of 16 at Blue Horizon Restaurant & Bar while visiting Vieques. We arrived about an hour early hoping to enjoy the view and have a drink at the bar before being seated. This has always been one of our favorite spots to watch the sunset while in Vieques, so we were really looking forward to the evening. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible from the moment we walked in. The bartender reacted with obvious frustration when our group started ordering drinks, speaking rudely and dismissively despite our efforts to be polite and even offering to keep everything on one tab. She eventually walked away mid-interaction. Hoping to resolve things, we spoke with the manager, but that conversation was just as disappointing. Instead of addressing the issue, the manager was dismissive and unfriendly, making it clear our group wasn’t welcome and even blaming the poor interaction on us. Before we were even seated, it was obvious that staying wasn’t an option. We left and went elsewhere for dinner. It was incredibly disappointing, and sadly, this experience has made it so we will never return, despite this being a tradition we’ve always looked forward to while visiting Vieques. There are so many better options in Esperanza.

I made a reservation for a group of 16 at 7:30 PM at Blue Horizon. Our group arrived around 6:30 PM so we could enjoy the view and grab a drink at the bar before being seated. Unfortunately, our experience started off very poorly due to the bartender’s behavior. When our group approached the bar to order drinks, the bartender became extremely rude and visibly upset that we were ordering 16 drinks there instead of waiting until we were seated at our table. We tried to remain polite and even offered to keep everything on one tab to make it easier, but she continued to raise her voice, complain about our orders, and eventually stormed off mid-interaction. Hoping to resolve the situation, we spoke with the on-site manager, but that interaction was just as disappointing. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, the manager was also dismissive and rude toward our group. Given the way we were treated before even being seated, we decided not to stay for dinner and left the restaurant altogether. It was really unfortunate because we were looking forward to the evening and the view, but the service we received made it clear that our group was not welcome.

We were excited and looking forward to a wonderful evening at Blue Horizon restaurant and bar for dinner and drinks with family and friends. A reservation was booked well in advance for our group of 16. We were told the bar is open daily and were looking forward to some delicious drinks and enjoying the view for an hour until our reservation. Upon entering the bar we were immediately mistreated by the female bartender. She was difficult and rude to our group. When finishing up our drink order she threw her hands up in the air and stormed away leaving us feeling completely disrespected. At this pint we knew she was going to be our server. We finished our drinks and asked to speak with the manager. The manager was difficult to locate and when I finally did he put his hand up in my face to dismiss my concerns. Immediately we chose to leave and take our business elsewhere. Upon leaving I immediately sent an email to the hotel/restaurant manager asking to speak with someone about this situation and I have yet to hear back. This was extremely unfortunate and disappointing given that we had a prior terrible experience at this same location which we spoke to the owner about and were hopeful this time would exceed our expectations. However this visit was much worse than our prior visit. The rude disrespectful attitude given tour group was unacceptable. We come to Vieques yearly and visiting Blue Horizon was always on our list of places to go unfortunately this will no longer be the case. I hope the owners and management team are able to make some improvements in the future. A disappointed group of 16

The beach front access and views were outstanding. We had dinner and breakfast on the covered porch; food and views were great. The staff were welcoming and helped us access outside services. We had a late ferry off the island, left luggage for the day and used pool shower before flying home. Vieques beaches are magnificient.
