The Yeatman

From the moment we arrived, the staff at The Yeatman were professional, courteous, and genuinely welcoming. We booked a panoramic suite that was even better than the photos — spacious, beautifully designed, and with an extremely comfortable bed. Every detail exceeded expectations. Dinner at Dick’s Bar was excellent, with great food, attentive service, and spot-on wine recommendations. The hotel feels like a resort within the city — a peaceful oasis high above the bustle of Porto. The hilltop location means breathtaking views, but it’s about a 20-minute walk downhill to Cais da Ribeira (and uphill back), so guests should be comfortable with that or plan to drive/uber/bolt which could be a hassle. Overall, The Yeatman offers the best of both worlds — resort-level relaxation with easy access to the city. Highly recommend.

We went to Porto for a long weekend. This was one of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed in. The service was exceptional. The hotel is beautifully designed and has a lovely wine theme throughout. Our room was spacious with a stunning view of Porto and the bridge. The bathroom was modern and with a powerful shower. We loved the location of the hotel with stunning views over Porto and the Duoro river. It's just a short walk to the WOW museum and lots of Port lodges.

We went for a drink and experience on a waking tour we were doing ourselves. All staff were welcoming. Views were amazing. Atmosphere was warm and cocktails fabulous. Do yourself a favour and visit this amazing place. We are considering staying here on our next visit for the extra special experience

Very close to perfect: delightful staff; superb position with wonderful views over the Douro to Porto; spacious, comfortable rooms; top-quality breakfast; expertly curated items on Portuguese wine in the corridors (like a fascinating museum/art gallery); fine spa facilities; impeccable standard of fixtures and maintenance. I don't meant to sound churlish, but I do have two moans: it's all but impossible to escape the unrelenting and intrusive recorded "cocktail music" in all the public areas except the spa. Awful if you don't like it! Why not vary the style of music during the day, or have different types of music in different areas? Or relay the really good live music when the pianist is playing in the bar? Or - heresy - have some quiet areas? My second moan is: why on earth is there only one easy chair in the bedrooms, when there's ample space for a second one? Overall, though, one of the great hotels, with the high prices fully justified.

Absolutely loved everything about the Yeatman, especially the breathtaking view! We were in a room at the end of the hall on the 5th floor with a spacious terrace. It had great water pressure and was totally silent and quiet. Never heard any noise. It was immaculately clean. Lovely staff. Breakfast was fantastic. We were happy that we chose to stay on this side of the river in Vila Nova de Gaia and have the stunning view of Porto.
