On the southern coast of Portugal, in the Algarve region just outside Faro, Vilamoura is one of the countryâ€(TM)s most beloved resort towns. Anchoring this seaside playground is the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura. Casual beach resort elegance defines the style at this lovely property, where the emphasis is on total relaxation. When youâ€(TM)re not splashing in the sea or playing tennis, laze in one of three pools or melt your cares away in the Turkish sauna. An array of excellent resort dining venues includes Sirius, overlooking the marina.

We had 2 beach facing rooms with large balconies July 2025. Overall the place is great but the bathrooms need updating as only 1 sink, shower great in 1 room but poor in the other. Outdoor furniture outside on 1 balcony was too old and needs serious cleaning / replacing. The umbrella was broken and old too. The other balcony had 1 little round table and chairs with acres of empty space? We requested sofas / coffee table but this never arrived. But the beds/mattresses/pillows/sheets were excellent - such a great sleep on large beds. The TV was a little old/slow to load. The Peppersteak restaurant was amazing with excellent food & service. The bar next door also great. The breakfast buffet was also ample with everything you would ever need. The main pool is a little small but fine. The beach restaurant was mainly fancy seafood so didn't eat there. The sun loungers are chargeable. The sea / beach was clean. The lifts often got busy and were also slow compared to modern ones. The concierge team are amazing and organised everything we wanted so fast and friendly. And overall the staff are really pleasant and happy to help everywhere when they can. The whole place could do with a tech upgrade like ordering drinks from your sun-lounger, faster lifts, digital air con controls etc. Big question is would we go back - and the short answer is 'Yes' most probably but stay in higher rooms with a small balcony.

We have just returned from a 4 night break at this hotel. The location is fantastic with easy access to all the bars and restuarants around the marina. We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis and took full advantage of the restaurants around the marina in the evenings. Breakfast is buffet style and what you would expect in a hotel of this size. Staff at the pool bar and the cocktail bar were brilliant with fast and attentive service. Yes the drinks are a little expensive but you would expect to pay high prices in a hotel with such a good location. We had a room facing the marina which was very spacious and clean, but beware if you like to get off to sleep before 2am as there is considerable noise from the nearby bars.

We have been coming to The Tivoli in Vilamoura since 1998. It’s great location and the staff are really friendly and helpful. But honestly the only thing that is 5 Star is the prices in the bars and restaurants. Also you have to now reserve your table if you fancy a drink in the hotel bar this is crazy for a Hotel Bar. If you don’t reserve your table you might get a table outside when you return up if you're lucky but it’s so annoying that you have to look at all the empty reserved tables but you can’t sit there. The rest of the services you receive are 4 star maximum. Rooms are clean but they always miss replacing something whether it’s a towel, Bathmat, Flannel, Water, Milk, or sugar it’s very annoying. We couldn’t be bothered ringing down to reception every time as it takes so long to get what you need in the room. We did ask for a couple of extra pillows and it took 48 hours to get them, and it took a 2nd request not good enough. Our safe kept displaying an error message and we couldn’t open or close it, and they wouldn’t come to the room unless we were in the room. I do understand but again very annoying. I’m sure there are people out there that can’t be bothered to write a review but the service and cutting corners has been getting worse over the recent years, but the prices are getting higher. We came here for my wife’s 60th birthday with another 6 couples and they all said it’s not 5 stars which is such a shame. We have always enjoyed our time here, we have celebrated my wife’s 40th, 50th and now her 60th at the Tivoli. We did have a great time in Vilamoura but mostly it was away from the hotel in the surrounding restaurants and bars. On the sunbeds there are normally plenty but there aren't enough umbrellas and not everyone wants to be in the direct sunshine, There was lots of people reserving them with towels and not using them this isn't right and should be policed much better. But the main issue is there's not enough umbrellas. After this experience we will look elsewhere when coming to visit Portugal as the hotel wasn't cheap and standards have slipped. I did speak to Reception, pool guys and the Staff at the Main evening bar so I did explain my issues but they all said sorry but they couldn’t do anything about them.

This hotel is fantastic! The views are amazing doesn’t matter which room you stay in, sea or marina. The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you.

The hotel is a great location with fantastic views , however the Hotel rooms are looking tired but the public areas are well looked after. We came Purobeach full board and this was a massive mistake The Breakfast is the only meal worth paying for. There is plenty of restaurants nearby do not waste your money paying for food here. We are here for 14 days and have hardly eaten any of the food. For lunch you have to go to the Origano restaurant by the pool, it is waiter service but very slow and the menu is limited most things on it are not has described. We are now down to pizza . There is a choice of 3 desserts. The evening meal is the worse I have ever experienced, it’s buffet style but very limited choice, mainly fish and the meat tends to be meat you would not normally eat i.e pigs cheeks and there was even a baby pig cooked on display. No normal potatoes or vegetables that are not mixed with something that you wouldn’t eat . The restaurant is empty every night and I can see why. Just to explain purobeach - once paid for you are allowed to use the purobeach pool or beach area . What they don’t tell you , is that you have to book in advance and you are not guaranteed a bed each day. Also you can only have the back row . All the nicer areas are for paying guests from outside the hotel. You get a bottle of water free 330cl and a small bowl of fruit. The paying guests get a lot more , they get a fruit platter. We never used the purobeach beach area because all the beds have fixed parasols so you cannot lay in the sun. Therefore for the amount we used purobeach it would have been better to pay as we go All in all I don’t think this holiday is worth what I paid
