We felt welcomed on reception with beautiful smile of concierge Anisley. After qick check in our language been deliver to our suite with small resort tour so we can’t got lost in the morning. Our suite was well prep for us , perfect temperature by very quiet AC( big surprise), room previously been checked by our butler Oro , he made sure everything was in working condition. Suite was perfectly clean , freshly painted, very comfortable bed & sheets, exited under sky shower. Cleaning lady’s did very good job & evening made up & towels change. All restaurants well prep and set up , Roberto was happy to open doors to us , all waitresses are friendly, happy , food well served, amazing omelette. All food breakfast, lunch & dinners well served & looked great , taste very good .restaurants very nice decorated. Our butler Oro always made sure we are booked for dinner on time we choose, he always was checking with us that we got what we want. Resort was very well maintained, clean & decorated. All 3 beaches well set up , all bars full of alcohol with happy bartenders. Great served & taste coffee all different kind , great friendly waiter Lady on main bar. Very good stone oven make pizza & burgers . Music & entertainment by Alejandro never anointed or boring . Big applause to all ppl working in the resort . Buena Vista =beautiful Sunsets and Sunrises I have not travelled the world . This opinion is based on my travels In Santa Maria I was taken away by the sunset . Stunning . And it costed me about 2100 insurance included and I even had a budget to recognize great human effort (tips) We stayed for 7 days . Sept 3 to Sept 10 . I believe there was just one other couple who left the same day for Montreal . During our stay both concierges encouraged us to discover two other resorts that carry the same brand “ Meliá”. We went to both and Both shined too. We loved their beaches and the beach entertainment ( dance lessons and tai chi) The best lunches we ate were at the Cayo Santa Maria resort in a beach hut restaurant that made outstanding fried calamari and the fried chicken was good too along with the vegetable and rice . The service at this hut restaurant was better than all the lunches we had a Buonavista and Dunnas and St Maria that The best supper meals at BUENAVISTA took place in the two restaurants that face the main pool area . I did not like the way the menu is shared via QR code. Sometimes the wifi would not stay and I would be bumped off the page until I discovered that the waitresses and the waiters know the menus by heart. The best dessert was the strawberry ice cream. My favourite main dish were tortellini with a carbonara Alfredo style sauce. My favourite starter was fried Bacala and the cream patato soup with Parmesan quite good too. I won’t give the food at Buenavista a 5 star because no restaurant down south ever succeeded to deliver flawless recipes day in day out but given that the variety of produce is limited in Cuba I would say that 5 out of 7 suppers were better than 4 stars and 2 out of 7 were 3 . The breakfast buffet selection was typical Cuban style . The eggs or omelet you order it from the waiter along with your cappuccino or espresso which by the way the barristo did a fine job on my cappuccino . Entertainment during the day .. Yoga Pilates at the beach and swimming pool style stretching jumping. 4 30 at Buenavista cha cha dances course or salsa or any other Latin dance. Great great teachers About installation: Buonavista was rated 5 stars for its installations and the amenities for years but 15 * years later there are signs of wear tear but daily we see the workers trimming and painting and upgrading lights etc etc The beds were done everyday and sometimes while we were having supper the maids came in to make them pretty just for bed time . Beds were comfortable but one showed signs of age . About water pressure : We had a slight problem with hours and the resort offered us another room same junior suite category with better pressure. The better room had enough water pressure for a decent shower. When we encountered issues like the water or slight ventilation noise concierges were very fast to act and put a crew to work and we were informed . Really appreciate it. Maybe every room should be inspected regularly so that customers never face this or that… The 24 hours bar that serves a pita dough pizza ( yes I said a pita dough pizza ) they were ok as a very light snack , and the coldest beer and burgers were also plus The strength of any restaurant hotel or resort lies in the effort the real effort by all the staff including the doctor who was on site and helped my sweetie with allergy symptoms People do not go back to any hotel because the amenities are perfect . They go back because of service plus more service plus more even more service when the pressure is on. Given that employees in Cuban resorts do not earn a large monthly salary , it takes very special leaders to groom employees into responsable experts . I watched crews under pressure and they executed Great leadership only works if the new employees are taught to do the same. BUENAVISTA staff impressed me . They always did their best . I do not know when our next trip will be but if the service will match Buenavista we will be content as will all clients BuenaVisa is not a 5 star resort anymore. Improvements will come. I believe.

Love this stress-free boutique resort! Everything is so close and very quiet. The three beaches are all stunning but totally different which is very nice. The pool and the room are beautiful too and the staff are very friendly. The variety of the food is quite limited in low season but the chef did great work to make meals tasty. We go to Cuba not for food but for the fantastic nature and nicest people. MB is our top resort in Cuba and definitely will return soon.

Adults only, three beaches, one that goes on for miles, hundreds of colourful fish in waist-deep water and more exciting snorkelling just a few yards offshore make this hotel a beach lover's paradise. The staff are friendly and remembered us from past visits, our butler Oro helped us with a few minor issues with our room and made sure our stay was pleasant. If you want a no-pressure, upscale tropical vacation, this resort is hard to beat.

Melia Buenavista has become such a special part of our lives that it truly feels like home away from home. This was our fourth visit, and every time we come back, we’re reminded why we fell in love with this resort in the first place. The beaches are absolutely breathtaking, three to choose from, each with its own beauty. The snorkeling is unmatched; we’ve seen stingrays, octopus, puffer fish, and so many other incredible sea creatures right off the shore. No excursions needed when the ocean here is its own living aquarium. What makes this place even more unforgettable is the atmosphere. It’s peaceful, quiet, and never feels crowded, the perfect setting to relax and recharge. The food is always delicious with plenty of variety, and the staff go out of their way to make every guest feel cared for and welcomed. This trip was especially meaningful because my boyfriend proposed to me here, and of course, I said yes! To share such a life-changing moment in a place that already means so much to us was magical and something we’ll cherish forever. We want to give a huge thank you to Oro for his wonderful service and kindness during our stay this year. And even though they weren’t here this time, Daimy and Yanni hold a very special place in our hearts, they are a big part of why we’ve chosen to return again and again. Their warmth and care over the years have made this resort feel like family. Melia Buenavista is so much more than just a resort, it’s a place filled with beauty, peace, and love. We can’t recommend it highly enough, and we’re already looking forward to visit number five!
