Melia Las Dunas

I have been 8 times at the Las Dunas since my first time back in 2010. To be honest, of course, the hotel has had better days, all of this, because of the lack of tourism in Cuba now, that is making things very different. However, what has always kept me going back to Las Dunas, is the staff, the wonderful gardens, the gorgeous beach, and ... the animation. Aside from the beach, the hightlight of my day has always been the animation around 8h30pm, right after my dinner. The live music at the Central Place outdoors or in the lobby. Back in 2010, the cuban bands were huge, trumpet, trombone, flute, keyboard, base, guitar, singer. The atmosphere was crazy fun, line cuban dancing with animators. Of course, the tourism being lower now, and the attendance at the Las Dunas being low since 2019, I cannot expect such big bands, but there used to always be a small band, or, some recorded music and line dancing. Except ...this time. If it had not been for Leo the animator, who danced a bit with me and another lady, I would not have danced at all...nobody, no animation. Leo is a darling, he is the best animator since Teo !!!! He needs to be commended for his work. He is so charming and outstanding. Special thanks to all the garderners who are so nice, always saying Hola, doing a great job, also all the staff at the buffet, restaurants, beach. Special thanks to Zulamys, Cecilia and Yaneisy at the buffet... they always have a smile on their face, they are so caring and such nice people. My maid all week (a man ! how great!) was Yanosky, such a nice and caring person. Just adorable. On the beach .... the guys who find you a nice chair and place your towel, Leonel, Eliecer, Ernesto the lifeguard, and gosh ... I am forgetting the name of the others, but they were adorable ! Such nice people, who have been working at this hotel for such a long time. That says a lot about them, and about the hotel. Regarding animation or...lack thereof: I understand that the money is rare... but hey, some Cuban recorded music played in speakers outdoors or in the lobby after dinner, one animator who does line dancing with clients, .. and removing the clothes you are trying to sell which totally blocks the view, people cannot see the band or the animator... that, would not cost anything, since the animation team is already on site. It is beyond me why management is not doing anything about animation. Oh... and pleeeease, get rid of those fashion shows ! Everyone I spoke to do not like them. Remove the clothes, let’s see the lobby when you arrive there from the restaurant at night, and people will feel like participating in dancing. People will feel like engaging! All in all, I liked my stay but the lack of animation is a deal breaker for me and... I don't know, I just might have to change hotel. which would literally break my heart.

Durante nuestra estadía lo pasamos genial gracias a los servicios del hotel Meliá las dunas , debido a estos servicios nuestra familia ha pasado unas hermosas vacaciones.Dentro de estos servicios están las chicas de animación las cuales hacen que estas vacaciones sean más divertidas gracias a yailyn y Keily pudimos disfrutar mucho

Un placer este en este Hotel, pasamos días estupendos en familia, nos encantó la playa, la piscina el personal muy amable, la comida estupenda. Queremos volver Pronto. Gracias Melia Las Dunas volveremos pronto a este hermoso lugar que ha sido maravilloso para nosotros
