Les Sources de Caudalie

2nd visit to this unique location. Accommodation was superb. Location and surroundings are so peaceful and relaxing. All staff very helpful and pleasant. Expensive but worth it for a holiday of a lifetime

Lovely buildings all beautifully decorated and set out around a small lake. We had a half-board prestige room with breakfast. Tour of the Smith Haut-Lafitte vineyards and tasting was enjoyable. Room 4 was a bit noisy as near a staircase and small children were running up and down the corridor but it had a nice ground floor small seating area outside overlooking the lake. Good size room with nice bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice in the buffet and friendly service. Very good quality food. We had lovely massages in the spa - these are very expensive but include use of the lovely spa facilities. The half-board is supposed to mean that you have the no choice set menu but we were able to exchange this for the equivalent value on the a la carte menu. Enjoyed the pork and the spring vegetable risotto. Again quite a few young children so ask to sit in a quiet area. Overall a lovely place to stay for a short visit.

We recently stayed at Les Sources de Caudalie as part of our 16th anniversary celebration and it was nothing short of exceptional. We were warmly welcomed upon check in by the GM and the team, not only was our request for a quiet room were met, we were treated to a room upgrade and appreciated how well the room was appointed and how comfortable the bed was. We also enjoyed morning walks around the vast estate surrounded by vineyards, breakfasts on property was filled with fresh breads and produce, while dinner at their 2 star Michelin restaurant La Grand Vigne was memorable. Chef Nicolas and his team welcomed us with a tour to his kitchen, and then proceeded to wow us on his progressive farm to table cuisine. Service by Massimo complemented our dining experience. We were also impressed with the wine at Chateau Smith Haut Laffite, our visit made memorable with an introduction to Monsieur Cathiard the Chateau's owner. We wished we had stayed longer!

Additional building loacated nearby main Chateau. The distance is not a problem and main building is easly reachable by bike. But the design of rooms is not tasteful, the use of old farm furniture in a chateau rooms is quite controversial. Bathrooms are quite poorly renovated with cheap materials and do not correspond to 5* hotels. Breakfast is poor and you need to pay supplement for having it in main house.And never accept staying in room no 1 as it is located right next to the kitchen, so from early in the morning it's impossible to sleep because of the noise from there.

Stayed for a couple nights here and everything is excellent. Great accommodations, food, service, etc.
