A boutique escape in Lithuania

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Tucked into the heart of Vilnius Old Town, Stikliai Hotel - part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux collection - offers a boutique experience steeped in history and quiet elegance. Housed in a Baroque-Gothic building that once belonged to the city’s 16th-century glassmakers, the property blends architectural heritage with refined interiors designed by Anne Toulouse, creating a timeless yet intimate atmosphere. My stay in a Deluxe Double Room was marked by classic décor, warm wooden floors, and thoughtful touches like a welcome gift of macarons and bottled water, followed by a delightful cake mid-stay. While the promised courtyard view was replaced by a less inspiring outlook onto the winter garden roof, the room itself was comfortable and well-appointed, with a king-size bed, sitting area, and a bathroom featuring natural daylight, Sothys toiletries, and underfloor heating. Breakfast was served in a cozy room overlooking the romantic courtyard, with a high-quality buffet and à la carte options included. The Eggs Benedict and crepes with quark and berries were particularly memorable, though service throughout the hotel leaned more reserved than proactive. The property’s hidden courtyard and winter garden offer tranquil spaces to unwind, while the basement spa - with its small pool, sauna, and relaxation zone - adds a welcome layer of serenity. Dining options range from the rustic Stikliai Tavern, serving traditional Lithuanian fare, to the gourmet restaurant under a glass dome, where French cuisine is paired with candlelight and greenery for a romantic experience. The adjacent pâtisserie, Ponių Laimė, is a charming spot for French desserts and light bites. Stikliai Hotel is undeniably beautiful, with a nostalgic charm and a prime location that makes exploring Vilnius effortless. While service could benefit from a warmer, more intuitive touch, the overall experience remains refined and memorable - ideal for travelers seeking quiet luxury in a historic setting.

Fantastic stay. The hotel is gorgeous with a huge amount of art and beautiful design. Clean, neat rooms. Breakfast was excellent, service was excellent. The sauna was a lovely touch, we didn’t realize they had one when booking. Perfect location. No negatives.

An excellent choice

I did my homework choosing a hotel in Vilnius, and my effort paid off. This was the first time my family and I visited this magical city, and we did not know what to expect. We arrived late, at 1:00 am, and one of our two rooms was upgraded immediately. The hotel was so beautiful, atmospheric, and comfortable, with updated bathrooms. The whole staff was welcoming. Andrius at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable, suggesting detailed itineraries and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious, especially the Eggs Benedict. The buffet was plentiful and filled with local fruit from the hotel's own farm, as well as cheeses, meats, breads, and pastries from the region. The breakfast staff was great, especially Vitalijus and all of the girls who served us. We plan to return soon.

What a wonderful hotel, this one! Friendly staff, especially at the front desk! Good food, cosy bed and very nice lobby. Tasty breakfast! Situated at the old town, middle of everything. Possibility to play pool and chess downstairs, cool small sauna complex!

Excellent hotel

We had a wonderful weekend at Stikliai. The hotel facilities are lovely - decent gym, good bar, very good breakfast. Our room had what we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. It is particularly nice that you get both a hard and a soft pillow so that you can choose your preference. The location is central, and service was excellent. We unfortunately couldn't use the spa because it was under renovation, but besides that it was a lovely stay.
