We had a really lovely stay at Hotel Magri in Vouliagmeni. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and that set the tone for the whole trip. The hotel itself is cosy, with beautifully kept rooms that are quiet and comfortable, making it easy to relax. We visited during rather chilly spell in Greece, which coincided with a nationwide taxi strike at the same time, so we ended up spending more time at the hotel than we’d originally planned. But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, we slowed down, played cards, and enjoyed some excellent wine and champagne in the lounge. The food and service in the Italian restaurant Gio was absolutely lovely, defintely worth visiting, it also a small bar that has a friendly, lively atmosphere, perfect for a pre-dinner drink. There's a short walk to the beach and the bay has lots of restaurants dotted along, and with more places to eat in Vouliagmeni there's plenty of choice nearby. Even though we didn’t get to experience the outdoor facilities due to the weather, we’d love to come back when it’s warmer to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer. Its short distance from the airport also makes it a great option for a quick getaway from the UK. Overall, a really enjoyable stay and somewhere we’d happily return to.

I booked the Margi Hotel in Athens through my SLH Members account. I called the front desk in advance to ask about the upgrade I was entitled to. The front desk staff said they would provide the upgrade. I arrived at the hotel at 2:00 a.m., but they told me that my upgrade had already been taken because it was late at night. Strangely, they charged me for a full 24-hour stay (from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.), even though the upgraded room was supposed to be waiting for me starting at 3:00 p.m. I then asked to change the cost of the first night since I didn’t receive the upgrade I was entitled to as an SLH member, but my request was also denied. At the same time, the friendly night manager at the front desk said he was ready to provide a voucher for the spa or restaurant. Since I was very tired and it was late at night, I asked to postpone receiving this voucher until tomorrow. And I was very surprised when the next day I was told that: no upgrade no short-stay rate no voucher Moreover, Mr. Erojanis, the front desk manager, conducted the conversation in a raised tone. I don’t know what he didn’t like about my legitimate requests. I want to address SLH members: don’t expect the hotel to follow any SLH membership rules or treat you accordingly. You will feel nothing like what is described in the SLH network’s marketing presentation about special treatment for members and guests.

Have been coming every time we’re in Greece. One of the few places I get the impression that not much changes (in a good way). High marks as always for the excellent staff!

Amazing place! Such a beautiful and cozy small hotell. We spent a weekend there "off-season" so the beach area was closed in many parts. But we didnt miss going to the beach because of the poolarea in The Margi is a fantastic experience. Great food and the staff makes you feel special.

So many things here fail to add up to a quality hotel. Guest room entry door opens into the bathroom area then there is no door between bedroom and bathroom, weird or what? The shower then leaks into the entrance way floor. We had to ask housekeepers to dry the floor of our balcony as it was puddled with water. Room ac controls dirty and marked with very small grey print on a dark grey background making some functions impossible to read. We never did work out what the two small knobs do! Breakfast offered so much but turned out to be lacking in many ways. Pancakes were served at the table but were completely cold. Bowls for fruit were situated at the opposite end of a long buffet counter, with plates for breads way back near the fruit! Butters mislabelled, wild birds pecking around the buffet with staff making no attempt to chase them away. On the positive side staff were all very friendly and helpful, the coffee is excellent.
