Spent 3 days in the hotel , just about long enough to write a considered review ... We are in an age when hotels have to up their game and offer more with the rise of the Air B and B option , this hotel has a 90's feel and a 90's outlook and attitude to service and what having guest's in a hotel means in this day and age. Our stay for 3 days was not cheap , I have stayed at an IKOS hotel where staff are attentive and service are outstanding , here even when paying the bill I wasn't asked how my stay was . There was no engagement from any staff member even the valets to the front of the building were seemingly inept and they are at the forefront of where your journey begins Whilst the hotel lobby and public areas felt 1990s , our room felt like 1980's East German , horrible drapes , net curtains which were dirty and ripped , horrible green sofa and chair , very average bathroom and the doors to the room slammed back and forth throughout the corridor at all times of the day and night , the room felt dirty and grubby when in truth it probably wasn't , it was just the vibes it was giving - urgent refurbishment required please The breakfast was very average , no real quality and hot food was just slopped into pots , again no attention to any sort of details The positives are the pool area , pool bar and service , restaurant by the pool where the food and service were decent . On the Sunday there was a young lifeguard in a proper lifeguard outfit with a float who spent the whole day with a whistle in his mouth which he constantly sounded seemingly every time someone dipped their toe in the pool , contrast that to the Monday and the lifeguard sat on his chair or loafed around with no top on ... quite a strange scenario Area around the hotel is lovely , opposite the hotel is a selection of beach side restaurants and a tip is that just outside the hotel is a kiosk/bar when you can get water and coffee and ice cream at a fraction of the hotel offerings The acid test is whether you would stay again or recommend and I would have to say no to both which is a pity as the hotel could be so much better

The Divani Apollon was a perfect place to end our 12 day trip to Greece. We went to 3 islands and flew back to the US from Athens. I was worried about staying in Athens as I heard it was so dense and congested. The Divani Apollon completely changed my view of Athens. It is located in an amazing location which I believe they call the Greek Riviera. The private beach in front of the hotel is incredible and very well kept. There is dedicated security at the private beach and around the hotel to ensure guests feel safe. There is a BigBus/HopOnHopOff bus in front of the hotel so visitors can sightsee during the day but come back to the calm and relaxation of the Riveria when you’re done w site seeing. The hotel is very clean, the property has two big pools and a private beach. There are plenty of excellent places to eat at and around the hotel. We had amazing meals at Panorama and Garbi (overlooking the ocean) and also at nearby Voula for a more local feel. Overall, this hotel is a gem in Athens and I look forward to coming back in the future.
