Andaz Maui: Beautiful Resort with Some Service Hiccups

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

Andaz Maui is a beautiful resort with a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the stunning pools and stylish decorations. While the resort caters to families, we noticed fewer dedicated kids' play areas compared to some other resorts. Service was inconsistent. The concierge and pool staff were outstanding, providing a welcoming and attentive experience. We also enjoyed the breakfast, the service was great there too. However, our check-in on the 22nd was poor. The front desk male agent was unwelcoming and unhelpful with our room request, not even bothering to look at his screen when asked about other room location options (we were not asking for an upgrade), and initially denied a late check-out (later granted by another staff member when calling from room). This was below the standard I have experienced with most other Hyatt hotels. The minibar was also poorly stocked, with only two cans, as if it had been forgotten. Overall, we enjoyed the resort's beauty, but the check-in experience and limited kids' amenities were drawbacks.

Cool Maui paradise

A fantastic family escape! The hotel’s pools were a paradise for my kids-who kept beaming with joy. The beach, just steps away, was perfect for snorkeling and swim, making it easy to bounce between poolside fun and ocean adventures all day. Thoughtful amenities meant I could relax while the kids made unforgettable memories. We left with sun-kissed smiles and a promise to return!

Excellent luxury resort

From the moment we arrived, the service provided by the staff at Andaz was spectacular. The staff went out of their way to make us feel valued and respond to our requests in a timely fashion. The food, drinks, and ambience were excellent at all the venues, and the view from the resort of the ocean was mesmerizing.

First Timers in Maui!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The staff, the facilities, the activities, the service, the ambiance and the food were all superb! The views from the lobby to the Pacific are magnificent, it was a bit unfortunate that our room didn't have the same. The beach access was so convenient and the grounds and vegetation were very well taken care of that we really enjoyed the outdoors very much. The staff provided such a 5 star service, they all were so friendly and attentive and always ready to help. I traveled with my son and this was our first time in Hawaii, the valet staff greeted the two of us with a lei and a reusable water bottle in a convenient carry-on bag, the reception staff welcomed us with a refreshing lavender lemonade and provided so much information that was very helpful to plan our 5 night stay. The morning buffet and The Feast at Mokapu restaurant were one of our highlights of our stay, food is delicious and the show in the evening is enchanting. We will go back at any time.

Just meh

Wait for breakfast 15-30 minutes. Room services ( cleaning) was poor. twice in 4 days - they didn't come and I had to call and request it. Hotel is mostly adults and young kids ( not many teenagers) I had 14 y old son w me. Most kids during spring break ended up at Grand Whailea. Andaz was far from many hotels ( 20 - 25m walk). If you want more adults - this place is OK. Although for $1500/ night I would opt for 4 seasons over Andaz given the service, long breakfast time and charge of $120/breakfast for 2 ( it was included but I got the bill anyway). I had higher expectation and given my experience, I would not recommend this place for the money.
