We’ve been coming to the Kea Lani for thirty years. We haven’t been here for the past ten years and things have really changed. First the good…as always, staff is super professional and accommodating. Every single person we have encountered has been friendly and well informed. The new sushi restaurant is fantastic. Now the not so good…the hotel seems tired and on some sort of budget cut. The little market across from Ko has a very limited selection. We really miss Cafe Ciao and the great pizza oven. The cabanas…wow. We pay 400. per day and they are mediocre at best. We had a beautiful downpour today and wanted to stay in our cabana but the roof leaked! Our possessions were soaked. An attendant commented that they all are starting to leak. At 400. per day, they should be in top shape not in need of repair. What a waste of money. The shower had a brief moment of hot water…after that none. Overall, the hotel is subpar and really a disappointment.

No complaints about the room - it was terrific and loved the vibe in the lobby bar. Nice service and beautiful lobby. Pool experience unfortunately would prevent a return stay. Aside from the unattractive very plain cement walls and little natural beauty, there are far too many cabanas with few available umbrella loungers by pools. A five star hotel should provide ample shade seating without forcing a $400/day cabana rental. It felt intentional and gave the experience a “take advantage of customers” kinda feel. This climate therefore encouraged early am rush to throw belongings on the handful of chairs which i found tacky and unbecoming to a high end resort. Standard cheap vinyl strip loungers were also spread out along a grass lawn away from pools for those not willing to pay cabana fees or not willing to rush to grab a chair by 730am. This is not the first Fairmont property we have experienced using this standard.

OMG! This resort was so beautiful & relaxing! We were in a group of 100 plus and everything from the staff to the FOOD was perfect! I had one of the best massages at the spa there! The room we had was very roomy & relaxing! You MUST stay here if ever you get the chance!

We spent 5 nights in this beautiful hotel Fairmont. All rooms are suites - we have been upgraded to a panomaric view (#602) - view is awesome on the hotel beach and island in front. All commodities in the room for the 5 star hotel class. Water and towels 3 times a day - bed ultra comfortable and big sofa with 2 TV. The hotel area is so great and on beach front. The hall is huge and distributes the pools and the restaurants. Sunbed on beach are complementary. Breakfast is nice but not huge - and 59$ per person is very expensive if not included in your room tariff. Not elegant to count a 9$ cappuccino at breakfast table when you spent so much money in this hotel. Parking is nice and free or you can use valet service. Restaurants are great as well with fresh catch fish. Prices are really expensive if you want a room not in Mountain View but it is a 5 star hotel and resort services. Staff is very friendly well Attentioned and professional ! Very nice for a week in Maui !

The Kea Lani is the best hotel on Maui. We won’t stay anywhere else when we come. Everyone is so friendly, especially the poolside bartenders Nick and Kris. They made our experience & even let us use his phone to watch the Dodger game. Nick’s humor can’t be beat. Truly above and beyond. We can’t wait to come back year after year!

We stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani Maui for and had a wonderful time. Most importantly, even above the great room, excellent service and delicious food, was that our seven-year-old son had the most fun. Many thanks for another wonderful vacation!
