I am writing this review on the flight home from a most luxurious 10 day vacation. We honestly could not have been happier with every aspect of the Fairmont. A lot of my review will be comparing the Fairmont with the four seasons where we stayed at last year. First and foremost, the fact that the hotel is all suites is a no-brainer. We had a beautiful ocean Suite with plenty of space. When my husband woke up early. He could close the doors and watch TV in a separate room while I slept. In no particular order, these are the things we most enjoyed. The gym is fantastic. A full gym with plenty of cardio and free weights. Self parking is free. The four seasons, I believe it was somewhere along the lines of $65 a day which discouraged us from renting a vehicle. We rented a car for the entire time and loved having the freedom and flexibility it provided. There are washing machines and dryers on every floor. This is a game changer! Although there was sometimes a wait for a machine, I was usually able to access one within a half an hour. The pool chair situation is a bit intense , but coming from the East Coast We were up extremely early. We did notice that most of the good chairs were taken by about 7 AM. We set up at the adult pool each day and enjoyed the quiet and tranquil environment and then in the afternoon we would head down to the swim up pool bar, which was super fun. Shout out to Nick and Noel for being the most fun bartenders. The beach is beautiful and a short walk from the hotel. Unfortunately while we there there there was a huge undertow which prevented us from swimming many days. The beach path is a perfect way to start your day with the most scenic walk. The reusable water bottles provided with hydration stations made staying hydrated easy. The food on property was delicious, especially the breakfast buffet led by Barry :) Check in and check out process was smooth and efficient. There is a wonderful shuttle that will take you anywhere in Wailea. We were celebrating our 25 wedding anniversary and the hotel send wine and cake, such a fun treat. The spa was beautiful and I had one of the best massages of my life. I feel like I could go on and on but will stop here. We will 1000% be back, next time with our extremely jealous daughters!!!

As everyone says: Outstanding staff, beautiful property, great food, no pool chairs etc…all true. Issues: 500 kids at the hotel with no supervision. I ended up being the pool police. I broke up several times, young boys, choke holding and holding heads under water. I lectured and stopped young boys throwing small footballs and lookalike hockey pucks at kids coming down the water slide. I rescued a 3-4 year old boy with floaties coming down the water slide and was under water. The father came over and thanked me for saving his son. My daughter also jumped into the pool to rescue a girl who panicked coming down the water side and went under. Remedy for this, is a life guard at the bottom of the water slide during operation and for one for pool control, especially with 500 children checked in. Second issue was a smell in the bathroom. They came two times. It was sewage smell. The first time they sprayed a rose scent. After that wore off, my daughter showed them the toilet had a crack in it and also might need a new seal. All in all, we loved the venue, and we both made a difference being there.

We arrived around 1:30 and didn’t get an early check in. In fact they waited until 4 pm exactly and said they have conventions going on. They said we got upgraded to a Mountain View but it also had a parking lot view and the building was noisy back there. Forget about a pool chair here unless you stake your claim at 6 am. We went on extra boat excursions to get away from the crowds here.

The reviews regarding the value of this resort are dead on. They charge you 5 star prices for two star service. If you are not out before 7am you will be relegated to a plastic beach chair a la the Jersey shore circa 1980 somewhere on a patch of grass. And that is if you have set your alarm to hurry down with all the other lemmings before 8. It is unconscionable to charge the price they do to make people fight for chairs or rent a subpar cabana (there is no fridge or snacks) for the outrageous price of $400 a day. The rooms are nice but the struggle for basic amenities detract from the entire experience. We have stayed at numerous other fairmonts without this Cancun at spring break experience. The Scottsdale Princess in contrast provided ample space where you could wake up at your leisure and still have a chair.

We had a wonderful stay in Hawaii! The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. We didn't get a lei though. Our room was clean, thanks to filipino lady forgot her name. The location was perfect close to the beach, great food spots, and shops. We especially enjoyed the pool area and the relaxing ambiance throughout the property. However, we did experience an issue at checkout where we were accidentally charged twice. When I pre settled at the reception theres a charge that isnt ours. The charge was from Makana Cafe April 16 11am. We arrived at around 530 pm that day. Ask to remove it from the bill. Then when i came back to check out lunch time theres another charge from kea lani restaurant "whoa" again? Its breakfast and I was asked if im sure that we hadnt had breakfast. Come on!! Really? We hope the hotel improves its billing process to avoid this in the future. Despite the hiccup, we truly enjoyed our stay and would still recommend this hotel for its service and setting. Just double-check your bill before leaving. (Always)

We stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani Maui for and had a wonderful time. Most importantly, even above the great room, excellent service and delicious food, was that our seven-year-old son had the most fun. Many thanks for another wonderful vacation!
