Fairmont Kea Lani Maui

Overall, we had a very good stay at the Fairmont and enjoyed celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary there. Unfortunately, our check-in experience left us disappointed. When we arrived, Tara asked for my last name. After I said “Simons,” she excitedly told us that we were being upgraded to a nicer room. I was genuinely thrilled, especially since I hadn’t asked for an upgrade and this was such a special anniversary trip for us. She then asked for my first name and realized that the upgrade was actually intended for another guest with the same last name. I completely understand that mistakes happen, but it was still very disappointing after being told we were receiving an upgrade and getting excited about it. I asked if there was any possibility that we could also receive an upgrade, but she simply smiled and began explaining the amenities and benefits available to us—most of which were already included in the Costco package we had booked. While this did not ruin our stay and we otherwise had a good experience at the Fairmont, the way the situation was handled left a lasting impression. A little more acknowledgment of the mistake or an effort to make the moment right would have gone a long way, particularly since we were there celebrating such a meaningful milestone.

I had an absolutely wonderful five-night stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani. From the beautiful property and incredible service to the warmth of the team, the entire experience was exceptional. A very special thank you to Jasper Yun, who went above and beyond to coordinate my stay even while he was out of office. He was incredibly accommodating and helped arrange a thoughtful tour of the property as I consider the Fairmont Kea Lani for future meetings and group programs. That level of hospitality, responsiveness, and attention to detail made a lasting impression. There were also several team members who made my stay especially memorable. Brad, the bartender at Pilina, was fantastic, makes the best mai tai on the island, and made every visit to the bar feel welcoming (like I'd known him for years). Kevin, the house car driver, was wonderful, personable, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. And Jerry, my room service attendant, provided such warm and attentive service. Every time I left I had a perfectly tidy room to return too - they even switched out my silk pillow case without me asking, and have LARGE Le Labo products curated special for the property which were replaced before running low. The pools had everything you could need and the spa was unique with the rainfall showers and clay bar experience using ingredients from the island. It’s the people who truly elevate a beautiful resort into an exceptional experience, and the team at Fairmont Kea Lani did exactly that. I left incredibly impressed with both the property and the level of service, and I would absolutely recommend it for both a personal Maui getaway and future corporate group programs. Thank you to the entire Fairmont Kea Lani team for such a memorable stay. I’m already looking forward to returning!

Wife and I spent 9 nights at the Fairmont Kea Lani. All in all a great experience. Entire staff was welcoming and accommodating. It is a big property so be prepared to walk. Property is lovely to experience anyway. Not much of Polo beach left in front of the hotel though. Was not a problem as we had rented a jeep and visited a different beach everyday. Maui is a beautiful destination with great food at every turn. So much to see and do! Hotel was in a great location to use as a home base.

We’ve stayed at the Fairmont Maui 3 times and we keep coming back because we love it so much! One of our favorite things is that you get an additional room, which makes such a difference when traveling with two kids. There’s plenty of space for everyone to relax, and the restaurants are amazing. The breakfast buffet is a must — it makes mornings so easy because you don’t have to think about what everyone is going to eat! My 4 year old especially loved feeding the koi fish every morning, which has become one of our favorite little traditions. And then there’s the beach, two pools, a kiddie pool, and a water slide — what more could you ask for? It’s such a perfect family friendly resort, but still feels beautiful and relaxing for the adults. Three visits in a row says it all — we absolutely love the Fairmont Maui and can’t wait to come back again!
