Nestled along the dramatic Kohala Coast and in the piko, or center, of five great mountains, Mauna Lani is a sacred oasis where generations of families and friends have made memories together on soulful lands once cherished by the greatest of Hawaiian royalty. Greet the morning sun as it rises above the mountains' peaks from the seat of an outrigger canoe. Talk story with friends old and new at the Great Lawn as the sounds of ocean waves and laughter mingle. Dine amongst the company of loved ones at CanoeHouse, where locals have savored the island's bounty for decades. As you walk this storied coastline, breathe the rejuvenating salt air and swim in the crystalline waters, you feel the same mana, or spiritual energy, that first captivated legends like King Kamehameha I and Francis H. I'i Brown.
In the rooms you'll find an understated, natural décor that’s bright and refined, with ample hardwood, natural fabrics, and textures that embody the essence of the soulful Hawaiian escape. Our luxury residences are ideal for guests traveling with extended family and friends, or simply desire more space, and rooms located above our adult pool offer a haven for couples or those celebrating something special.

We stayed here for my birthday trip with my partner, and the experience truly lived up to all the hype my friends had shared. The kamaʻāina rates and the level of service extended to locals were truly above and beyond. The massage I received was incredible — deeply relaxing and one of the highlights of the trip. Beach service was excellent, and both the water and shoreline were absolutely perfect. Dining at CanoeHouse was top-notch — the food and overall experience exceeded expectations. Our waitress was especially thoughtful, making sure we enjoyed our cocktails and happily offering replacements if they weren’t to our liking. The sunset views were stunning, and we loved being able to sit by the outdoor fireplace after dinner. The welcome gift baskets were a lovely touch, and waking up to those unbeatable ocean views made the stay even more special. A truly memorable birthday getaway.

Badly run hotel. Needed desk for 4am conference call as no desk in room. They said no problem and brought up a teeny child’s desk see photo. And could not accommodate in house guest for dinner because they shut down the restaurant for a private event. Isn’t that what the conference spaces are for??? You can’t shut down your main restaurant when the hotel is full! The rooms are comfortable but everything around them is run down. Or never improved by auberge. It’s like they ran out of money. The gym equipment is old and the main gym is small. This is not an auberge. More like a Fairmont minus.

Wonderful in every way - definitely going back for a longer trip. I'd take it over the Ritz or Four Seasons any day - gorgeous resort, impeccable service and much more warmth and friendliness.

Loved my stay at Mauna Lani! My room was nice and spacious, light-filled, with beautiful design. The entire hotel is beautifully designed - indoors and outdoors. All of the staff were exceptional, from the surf shack guides to the dining staff to the housekeeping. I am a foodie and the dining was delicious and some of the best I've had. Overall, everything went smoothly and good vibes were felt all around - it's the kind of hotel you want to return to again because everyone is so friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend!
