Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection

This is the nicest place we have ever stayed anywhere in the world. Super clean, well thought out interiors and excellent staff. I can’t say enough about how friendly and personable the staff was. We attended a luau at a nearby property and the difference between that property and the Mauna Lani were stark, at least in the common areas. It was our first trip to the big island and now we are spoiled for anything else. The first pic was from the patio or our “garden-view” room, which provided the sound of the surf and a view of the Pacific in addition to being garden view. Loved that! I didn’t take many pics of the hotel because I opted for videos in order to try to capture the absolute perfection of this resort. You won’t want to go home. I seldom spend any time on the properties during leisure trips, but I really wished we had been able to hang out here longer!

The Mauna Lani is one of the most beautiful resorts on the Island. Any time we have a special occasion or want to treat ourselves, we stay here. The food and drinks are excellent, the rooms are calming and comfortable, the staff is excellent, and the entire resort has such a rich feel.

We visited Mauna Lani to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived we received impeccable service. Every staff member was eager to assist with a smile or greeted us by name and acknowledged our anniversary. The resort is beautifully updated, with a very boho- Tulum meets Hawaii vibe. The pools are modern and the loungers are oversized, comfortable and so chic. The property is located on a calm bay with a stunning view of the north side of the island and Maui. My only mention would be that the rooms are small, and there isn't much extra luxury happening. The doors are very loud when they close and the hallways to appear run down. For the price per night- I would just be aware that the hotel, the location, the service, and amenities is what you are paying for - not a fancy hotel room by any stretch. For only a little bit more/night there are other hotels with above and beyond luxury rooms. However, this did not take away from the overall enjoyment of our stay. Everything else overshadowed the hotel room and I didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back!

Mauna Lani is something to experience. Beautiful place with excellent staff. Plenty of relaxing spaces from your private room to the communal room. The designer of the atrium is to be commended, the space is cool even and I don't think there is an air conditioning system. The hotel is not so big with many rooms that you feel you are just a number but yet it feels so big (design) with so little people that you don't feel crowded.
