Nestled along the dramatic Kohala Coast and in the piko, or center, of five great mountains, Mauna Lani is a sacred oasis where generations of families and friends have made memories together on soulful lands once cherished by the greatest of Hawaiian royalty. Greet the morning sun as it rises above the mountains' peaks from the seat of an outrigger canoe. Talk story with friends old and new at the Great Lawn as the sounds of ocean waves and laughter mingle. Dine amongst the company of loved ones at CanoeHouse, where locals have savored the island's bounty for decades. As you walk this storied coastline, breathe the rejuvenating salt air and swim in the crystalline waters, you feel the same mana, or spiritual energy, that first captivated legends like King Kamehameha I and Francis H. I'i Brown.
In the rooms you'll find an understated, natural décor that’s bright and refined, with ample hardwood, natural fabrics, and textures that embody the essence of the soulful Hawaiian escape. Our luxury residences are ideal for guests traveling with extended family and friends, or simply desire more space, and rooms located above our adult pool offer a haven for couples or those celebrating something special.

Will definitely be going again, the grounds were beautiful and the staff was equally remarkable. Shout out to Bullet and Ben for making the surfing and snorkeling a fantastic experience

Fantastic experience at the ML in spite of weather issues - it rained 3 days and the ML still made it a great experience! They offered free mai tai and multiple other classes. They also comped us a round of golf as well - unheard of! They absolutely went out of their way to try and create fun when the weather wasn't cooperative. Overall, it was a phenomenal experience, and we hope to return in 6 months.

We had a phenomenal visit at the Mauna Lei. It delivers a highly personal customer experience from start to finish. We had unique circumstances as we were hear during the "kona lo" storm - i.e., the weather was terrible. I'm glad we were staying at the Auberge as we were still able to have a wonderful family experience. TL;DR: we visited three islands and this was still a highlight for our kids despite the weather cancelling a lot of our itinerary (no fishing, no tennis, no volcanoes). Several highlights: - Small Resort Feel. We came from the Grand Wailea in Maui, which is a very nice resort, but also very large. The Mauna Lani felt intimate and easy to experience all the amenities. - Exceptional Quality and Finish. Everything here is beautiful. The resort aesthetic is contemporary Hawaiian. Pool, beach, and patio seating is comfortable. Grounds are exceptionally maintained. The gym is incredibly well stocked. Even the trash cans are built into the ground to maximize the natural environment. - Programming and Activities. This made the difference given the weather. They had daily programming which we took advantage of with the kids - e.g., Hawaiian checkers, fish pond tour, nature walk, custom hat making, weaving. Ethan did a great job with our kids - very knowledgable and patient. They also had available lawn games which gave our kids a chance to run around and enjoy during breaks in the weather. They also comped a few of the adult activities ( Mai Tai Bartending, Wine Tasting) given the weather which we appreciated. - Staff. As you'd expect at Auberge you get a highly personalized feel. We were recognized by name quickly by several team members. Exceptional customer experience during even the briefest interactions. Beach and pool staff take care to maintain the areas, even replacing the bean bags after each guests use. Very well done. - Property Amenities. Top notch across the board. Beautiful pool. Attractive beach areas (bring water shoes for stones). Well stocked market for grab and go food, bevs, and small items. We enjoyed the restaurants (with kids). Multiple fish ponds on site or adjacent. -Bar / drinks: The "Trader Vic's" / OG Mai Tai is authentic and delicious. The bar at the Canoe House offers great ocean front views and is a must-visit. We met the GM Pete on a few occasions and were very impressed. He even helped load our bags as we were leaving. Very well run resort under his leadership. We will definitely return.

A 10 out of 10 experience. Staff was incredibly well trained. All beach experiences were 10 out of 10. Surf instructors were great, our 7 and 11 year old grandsons had surfed a few times before but the guys taught them so much and they caught so many waves. John, our beach buddy, made sure we had great food and drinks while hanging out. And don’t miss the coconut experience, they open fresh coconuts, sip the juice, eat the fresh meat, or add a shot of rum for a real treat. Kids and adults loved this activity. Breakfast buffet was 10 out of 10. The number of fresh fruits was amazing, fresh and tasty! The Kona coffee made the meal so special. The omelet station was excellent, offering the usual add ins as well as Crab. We had a two bedroom house with a pool and Pvt. Spa that overlooked the ocean, golf course with a pvt. pond with beautiful fish and the hotel provided lots of fish food treats. Housekeeping, concierges, restaurant staff were all excellent. Can’t thank our travel agent “Paris Barrington” Travel for putting together this fabulous trip!!!!
