Peaceful Lowkey Luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We stayed in the Edison House and would receommend it highly. Complimentary wine in the room. We had a charcuterie board also. Breakfasts were exceptional and not your average offerings. We enjoyed the wine paired dinner immensely. Everything was top notch. We've stayed a several high caliber places over our 50 years of marriage and would highly recommend this for a special anniversary or birthday weekend. Of course, the tasting resulted in buying a case of their wine, which is why we came in the first place.

Best Service Ever

What an outstanding experience on so many levels. Worth the five hour drive from Whidbey Island. Their service is phenomenal, the property is stunning, and the accommodations are wonderful. We unfortunately were there when the kitchen was closed for dinner, but the breakfasts were top notch. The staff is well trained and very attentive.

Beautiful wine country inn

The Inn at Abeja is a great representation of what makes Walla Walla and the associated AVAs so special — warm, authentic and casual service, gorgeous natural landscape, and of course, excellent wine. We stayed in the Hayloft Suite above the restaurant space. The room has great noise insulation and the second floor views of the property were appreciated via the large back patio. There was a beautiful primary bedroom and bathroom, a living room, smaller sitting area and space where a Murphy bed folded down near a second bathroom (which also had a nice soaking tub, but no shower). The property is beautiful, with gardens, several historic structures that have been brilliantly maintained, stunning sunsets at the front of the property and plenty of acreage of grapevines. Each of the lodging options are nicely spaced out and generally in their own separate structures so things feel quite private. That sense of space extends to the main dining room which is large for a property with only 8 accommodations. We didn’t do any tastings at Abeja on this trip, but have tried the standard and food-paired tastings before and their entire wine portfolio is incredible and the food-pairings and the setting were stellar as well (a barrel room, the farmhouse lobby area and the back garden patio). We enjoyed one tasting menu dinner (it was our third time dining at the property) and found it to be a wonderful hospitality experience with some room for improvement on the food front. The chef had started helming the restaurant only recently before our stay and he most previously had owned and operated Bar Bacetto (which was arguably the best restaurant in the state) so I have no doubts the restaurant is probably already excellent at present. One wonderful aspect of the dinner is that they offer a wine pairing with their own wines (including current and vintage) — it is an amazing way to taste what they have on offer. The breakfasts were excellent — fresh juice and coffee, some sort of a starter and a delicious main. The service was prompt, the food delicious and the atmosphere cozy. Service across the board was excellent (particularly housekeeping) and everyone we encountered was warm and friendly. The location is very picturesque and close to several wonderful wineries (Abeja, Walla Walla Vintners, Bledsoe McDaniels) and beautiful tasting rooms (Echolands, Tranche). If you want something with a high degree of walkability, you will obviously need to stay somewhere downtown, but for most people, The Inn at Abeja will be the best option in town!
