Hotel Bristol for the Global Traveler

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Hotel Bristol - exudes elegance & sophistication . It's situated in the optimal city center. Stroll the winding cobblestone streets for unique shopping, doughnuts dipped in all flavors and restaurants specializing in Polish cuisine. Return to the hotel and experience the gracious well appointed rooms - quiet and soothing from the active Old Town area. One of the most important components of hotel selection is service - it is exemplary at Hotel Bristol - welcoming, helpful and feels like home!

Very dissapointing experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We booked Hotel Bristol directly through the Marriott Bonvoy app, expecting the standard associated with a Luxury Collection property. Unfortunately, we were given a room on the 4th floor where active renovation works were taking place. There was drilling and construction noise, yet there had been absolutely no information about ongoing renovation works when we booked or prior to our arrival. When we complained, instead of immediately moving us to an unaffected floor, we were initially told that the works would finish at 6 PM. There was also an unpleasant smell from the construction/welding works in the corridor. Eventually, the hotel offered us another room — surprisingly, on the very same 4th floor. We went to see it, but there was a strong burning/construction smell there as well. At that point we were exhausted from dealing with the situation and simply returned to our original room rather than spending more of our evening moving around the hotel. The most disappointing part was not the fact that a historic hotel occasionally needs renovation. That is completely understandable. The problem was the lack of any advance disclosure and, even more importantly, the way the situation was handled once we raised it. Guests booking a five-star Luxury Collection hotel should be informed in advance if significant construction works are taking place, and placing guests on the affected floor without warning is simply not the experience we expected from Hotel Bristol or Marriott. A beautiful historic property, but unfortunately our stay was overshadowed by an issue that could have been handled much better.

Perfect luxury hotel

Absolutely beautiful hotel and perfectly situated to exit hotel and experience Warsaw. Old Town just a short walk away. Our room was spacious and toiletries provided were luxurious. The hotel itself survived bombing of WW2, so it is a stunning representation of pre war architecture. The staff were lovely, kind and helpful. The pastries and coffee at Cafe Bristol were beyond delicious and I highly recommend stopping in for an afternoon treat. Overall, this hotel was perfect and exceeded all expectations. I would absolutely recommend staying here and it will be my first choice upon my return trip to Warsaw.

Nice hotel, great location, solid F&Bs, historic but issues with check-in and hard product

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Great location and historical of course. For that reason though, the walls are thin and you may hear undesirable noises from your neighbors. I booked through Amex FHR program separate 1 night reservations. They made me check-in and check-out each day as they couldn't merge it, which was a minor inconvenience. However, the invoices became jumbled and hard to keep track of. They didn't populate in the Marriott app where I could view the hotel bill likely since this was a 3rd party booking. One front desk staff gave me an invoice one morning while another one did not. I emailed the hotel after my stay to request invoices, but have not heard back in over 3 business days. Also had an issue in check-in as we had 2 rooms and only one was ready, past the regular 3pm check-in time. Staff stated it would take 5-10 minutes for final checks but I had not heard anything for over 30 minutes. Ended up speaking to housekeeping in the hallway who said he was new and couldn't help. Also called guest services from the 1 room we were in and they said they would call me back with an update but never did. I finally went downstairs after an hour and the keys were now ready.
