Reviews for Conrad Washington DC

A lovely stay in DC

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

My son and I spent 4 nights here while we toured DC. The hotel is in a very nice location withing walking distance of the subway, some high scale shops, attractions and a few restaurants. The staff were, to a fault, polite, helpful and friendly. A special shout out to the concierge Katie for going above and beyond to make our stay special. She even had a book on the history of the white house sent to our room when I mentioned we were going to do a tour there. The onsite restaurant service is excellent. Two minor things to note are that you must access two different elevator banks to reach your room and that the combination tub/shower in the room could be difficult for someone with mobility issues to negotiate.

Lovely Hotel, Even Better Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Was in town for a conference at the convention center and the Conrad was the absolutely the perfect spot to stay. Close enough that it's a short walk, far enough that it's a well needed oasis of calm away from the craziness. The standard king was perfect and roomy especially considering it's in downtown DC. But realistically, the staff are what make this such a wonderful place to stay. The folks who took care of us at the bar and restaurant were all wonderful and I must mention that Justin at the front desk just made our stay effortless, everything to do with check in/out and our room was handled smoothly and with aplomb. It's staff like Justin that makes the Conrad truly feel like a 5 Star hotel.

The sakura club was definitely worth the cost.

The hotel was very nice and the location was great. We traveled as a family with kids and the Sakura club was a great addition. When we arrived Tierney was the club ambassador. She was welcoming, and very helpful, explaining amenities as this was our first visit. I’d highly recommend the hotel and the club level is traveling with a family.

Hotel was nice… but don’t expect sleep

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Not the worst hotel I have stayed at but almost certainly the most uncomfortable sleep I have ever had at a “luxury” hotel. The hotel itself is very nice and well appointed. The staff are attentive and courteous. Our room, a corner king, was lovely with a view overlooking the DC convention center. The hotel provided complementary Prosecco for the anniversary I was celebrating, which was a nice touch. There is honestly nothing to complain about with regard to the hotel staff and their functions in and of themselves. However, the 9th floor room was very, very loud for what was supposed to be a respite room. Traffic could be heard roaring all night long because of the busy intersection of NY Ave, K Street, and Mass Ave.below. In the morning, construction from multiple locations joined the chorus. This isn’t the fault of the hotel necessarily but it did not match expectations or meet the quality standard one expects from a Conrad. What can be blamed on the hotel was the awful… I mean truly awful… pillows they provide in their rooms. I have never had such a flat, useless, neck-destroying sleep accessory prior to checking into the Conrad Washington DC. I would suggest that they must be working a group deal on pillows from one of their lower tier sister properties like a Hampton, but truthfully I have had better pillows at a Hampton. I have had better pillows on an airplane. The pilllows provided by the hotel seemed designed to instill a crick in the neck while also remaining as flat and lifeless as possible. No configuration or array af the 7 (!) pillows they ultimately provided was capable of producing anything approaching comfort for sleeping. Whatever sleep I got at the Conrad was more the after effect of sheer exhaustion rather than a concerted effort to provide comfortable sleeping accessories. Two latex, feather, polyfill, or memory foam filled pillows… at a reasonable standard thickness… would have solved the problem at this very expensive hotel. I liked the hotel in many ways just be forewarned that sleep may be difficult.

Impeccable Service and a Perfect Final Night in DC

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I stayed at the Conrad DC and was thoroughly impressed from the moment I arrived. The room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed. I especially appreciated the evening turndown service. It’s those small, elegant touches that elevate a stay. After a long, hot walk on the day of my arrival, I was greeted so warmly by Jackson and Tena. I must have looked pretty rough, but they didn’t miss a beat. They offered not just one but two cold bottles of water and cool, wet towels to help me refresh. Throughout my stay, Jackson greeted me each time with a huge smile, and Tena remembered my name from day one and greeted me personally every time he saw me. It made me feel truly cared for. On my final evening in DC, I visited the Summit rooftop bar. Rafael was my bartender, and he was phenomenal. He was personable, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in selecting just the right food and cocktails to celebrate my last night in DC. His recommendations were spot on and made the night feel really special. I watched the sunset from the bar sipping on a perfectly crafted cocktail! Room service was another high point. It was prompt, courteous, and well-organized. I also love that they have a “call-back” button to let them know when to retrieve your meal tray, which helped keep the room feeling tidy and uninterrupted. From start to finish, the staff and service at Conrad DC made my visit seamless and memorable. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!
