Terrible valet parking and customer service, charged me twice and still not resolved

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I stayed at this hotel from January 11 to 14 for a business trip and had a very disappointing experience with their valet parking. I used the hotel’s valet service and was charged twice. One charge appeared on my hotel bill and was paid with my business card. A second, larger charge was later posted through the valet parking website and charged to my personal debit card. When I used the valet service, I was explicitly told that my card information was collected “just in case,” not that I would be charged separately. When I contacted them to resolve this issue, I clearly requested a refund to my personal card. I even uploaded my personal bank statement as requested. However, instead of fixing the actual problem, they refunded the charge to my business card, which was not what I asked for and does not resolve the double charge. This back and forth has been extremely frustrating and time consuming, all due to their irresponsible handling of billing. If they truly value their customers’ time, this issue should have been resolved properly and promptly. Overall, this experience really let me down.

It was OK. Noisy construction all around.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I am a loyal Hyatt Globalist member so I've stayed at my fair share of Hyatt properties. This one was just "okay." The construction in the lobby and across the street makes for a noisy experience at the present time. Valet is not very speedy despite costing $50/day plus gratuity - so leave plenty of time if you're going anywhere in your car. Suite was fine, lousy water pressure in the shower, and HVAC controls that are not very accurate - but otherwise it was fine except for the constant construction right across the street at the moment.

Showering in the Dark

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The Grand is a nice Hotel. My only beef was that the light in the bathroom is on a timer, or it’s motion detected. Once you’re in the shower, no more motion, and it goes off, and you finish your shower in the dark.

DONT stay during the remodel, very disappointing from top to bottom

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Most of your staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were notified of the remodel going on, but NOT the extent of what was going on. My biggest frustration came after more than 20 hours of travel, including a date change, multiple connections, and long layovers coming in from Hawaiʻi. I arrived a day early specifically so I could recover from the flights and the time zone change. Instead, I was awakened repeatedly, at least a dozen times, by debris from your remodel being dumped into the dumpster outside my window. No exaggeration, it sounded like the debris was being dumped from the 3rd floor into the street level dumpster, it was a mini bomb every 20-30 minutes. This early arrival was approved by our organization and paid for by them. What was not paid for was the loss of a full day of work on my end. I gave that day up so I would be rested and sharp for the first day of the conference. That did not happen. I got no extra rest, only mounting frustration. That frustration was later compounded when I missed the only free day I had to meet members for lunch, due to how the situation was handled. The "pop-up bar" made to replace the 3 level bar that was being remodeled, was inconsistent on its hours, was honestly a joke of what we was expected after our same convention last year - will not be staying here again myselst.

Very pleasurable hotel experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I work nearby and stayed at the GH during a snow storm to be able to access my office. I stayed 2 nights, the staff( check in agent, concierge staff and the carouse hotel workers) were very professional and courteous. I would like to highlight a specific staff member, Aster who I met my first night while inside the Cabinet for their dinner buffet. She was exceptionally engaging, charming and we had an extended conversation that was equal parts funny and informative. You should be very proud of Aster as an employee as my impressions of the hotel were in large part due to meeting and engaging with her. She is a perfect reflection of your hotel.
