InterContinental Washington DC - The Wharf

I am still surprised at how poorly this hotel is managed. I checked in after room service was close for the night but I was assured the minibar and dry snack bar had sufficient options. My room phone did not work. I took a pic of the dry snack bar that was empty, except for 2 Kind Bars. I had to go the front desk to complain because my room phone did not work. I received a text message from the front desk manager apologizing for the prior nights fiasco. This made things worse. He misspelled my name. Beyond the fact that this Intercontinental had no quality control procedures to make sure minibars are serviced and phones work, I shared a pic of the clock in the room. I was an hour late. No quality control procedures to change clocks at daylight saving time. So, this Intercontinental has deputized all guests to be the hotel's QC watch dogs and then to add insult to injury, its employee did not even have the good sense to spell my name correctly. This isn't glitch. This level of incompetence is proof that the brand is one thing but it is reduced to nothing if its people don't care.

An awesome hotel with amazing hospitality! Always well treated with class and kindness! Hotel/Room very well maintained and clean! Parking cost and food prices are inflated high, but expected for DC. Loved the Wharf and all the awesome restaurants!

First time visitor with Platinum elite status, which includes upgrades if available. Status was recognized but no upgrades were given, even though right before checking in I checked what rooms were left and they had much better and nicer rooms than what I was given which they could have been upgraded me. Got a room facing a office building so beware they do have rooms like that. I read most of the reviews and it was always like I got this awesome room upgrade and we were overlooking the wharf. Definitely not my experience. Very disappointed. Also no food or beverages available after 10pm that's when things shutdown and there is no gift/convience shop

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while celebrating our wedding an anniversary. We stayed in a Premium King High Floor Wharf View. We truly enjoyed our stay. From the timely valet parking with in/out privileges, warm and inviting staff, ease of check-in and our room was ready early (2:30PM), a sweet treat (cheesecake) was present in our room at check-in and then again (macaroons) after our return to our room later that evening. The room was spotless and described. The location is great with easy access to many dining, shopping, and entertainment options. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a five star stay in every sense possible. The staff, the overall facility, the rooms, the location. Everything feels top notch from checkin to departure. Whether you are redeeming points or purchasing the stay, (worth it... resort fee... also worth it) presumably you are looking for a unique and memorable experience, and IHG Wharf delivers. The title of this review sums up how we felt about being here. Experiences like this with your loved ones create those lasting memories, and I couldn't be more thrilled about selecting this hotel.
