Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington DC

This hotel is centrally located with really kind and helpful staff, Shawn and Cookie, who made our stay comfortable and welcoming. The room we had was beautiful and practical for what we needed -- the only thing lacking was a view, but that's pretty typical in this area. The pool area is on a terrace next to some apartments so -- take that for what you will, it doesn't get much sun and it's small. It could definitely use some sprucing. Outside of that -- we enjoyed our stay here and would come back, too!

Location is good . Please be aware the HIDDEN FEES. This hotel is a scam . They say you stay is with breakfast fast. This is NOT true . On check out, a VERY rude person at the desk told me “ no need to get mad, you only have 30 dollars each for the breakfast. “ I said nobody told us anything. He rudely said “ look at your confirmation “ I said , it is not a matter of proof , but a matter of principle, guest should be informed. I honestly was so surprised.after paying the hidden fees we NEVER were told about my wife and I gave our luggage to the reception ( not sure if this was a right thing to do, since I do not trust this hotel)

A very beautiful property, centrally located within all the major points of interest for us. Amazing and friendly staff, wonderful reception and we really enjoyed our experience with them.

BEDBUGS. Beware staying here. I stayed here from August 8-9 2025 and came home covered in bedbug bites. Went to my doctor to confirm. I have called the hotel on 3 separate occasions to alert them and was told I’d get a call back. I have not heard from them after over a week of trying. Stay here at your own risk.

BEWARE of HIDDEN fees at this hotel. After I made a booking online and paid in FULL for the stay, the hotel charged me an additional $200 for a 'destination fee' and a 'destination fee occupancy tax' when I checked in at reception. When I asked them why wasn't this mentioned anywhere when I paid for the hotel in full, they said that's just their reception fee. The strong cannabis smell in the hotel with people smoking marijuana in the hotel and awful service just RUINED it for me.
