Immerse yourself in the rich history of our capital city by staying at the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn and Restaurant. Built during the civil war as two separate mansions, the Morrison-Clark homes typify the elegant charm of historic Washington DC. Lovingly restored, the homes retain their lofty, medallioned ceilings, Italian Carrera decorative-marble fireplaces, and exquisite, red-tiled Shanghai roofs. Steeped in tradition, but with all of the comforts of modern day amenities, a stay at the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn is a chance to experience the warmth of the past without surrendering the comforts of the present.

I had a horrible experience at Morrison Clake Inn and it was handled poorly by the hotel manager. I was placed in a room directly next door to a construction site. Come 8 AM I hear banging and see several men working outside my window. I call the front desk, and they say they will take care of it, but the men never leave. As a matter of fact, they begin to lay a cement-like flooring that lets off chemical-smelling fumes into my room. It was nauseating. Clearly, I deserve a full refund or credit for this room, right? Nope! The manager refuses my request (and offers a 50% refund). Poor quality. Poor service. I will NEVER stay here again.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Morrison Clark Hotel. Only a short walk away from the Convention Center. Room service and housekeeping were fast, consistent, and professional. Quiet hotel for relaxation and rest after a long day of business. I will definitely stay here again.

This is definitely the Best kept secret in D.C.!!! This is my 3rd stay at the Morrison Clark Inn and it did not disapoint. From the door man holding the door to the front desk staff, the service is a 10!!! This is the only place for me in D.C. and I am a member of another hotel's points program.

We stayed in the MC for 3 nights for a nearby conference. The hotel is centrally located in DC within walking distance of many sites. There are plenty of restaurants around -the hotel also has one which is excellent, reasonably priced, and has table service, which can be a bit slow. We stayed in a junior suite, which is spacious and overall very well appointed. There is no coffee or tea in the room and you have to go down to the lobby in the morning to get coffee, which is a bit of a drawback. Service at the hotel is excellent and friendly. We highly recommend it.

Stayed here recently and while the Morrison Clark Inn has a lot going for it, I’ve been left with mixed feelings overall. The good: It’s a lovely, historic building with a lot of character, and the location is fantastic — within easy walking distance of the main sightseeing attractions in D.C. If you’re after somewhere with charm rather than a generic chain hotel vibe, this definitely fits the bill. The not-so-good: Unfortunately, the service has been a disappointment. 11 days later and I’m still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. I emailed 4 days ago and haven’t even had the courtesy of a response. Customer service shouldn’t stop the moment you check out. Honestly, I wish I’d stuck with my original hotel choice instead of being swayed by the glowing reviews. Overall, nice place, but for me, good service matters just as much as a good location. Hopefully they improve on that front.
