In Washington DC, campaigning is a way of life, and The Normandy Hotel certainly gets the vote. An intimate urban retreat, it boasts elegant surroundings and impeccable service. The hotel has emerged from recent transformations even more sophisticated and stylish, armed with an arsenal of luxuries. With just 75 residential-style rooms, you will find yourself feeling right at home with complimentary internet access, flat-panel televisions with DVD players, espresso machines for an added jolt, and refrigerators for additional convenience.

They had a hidden $40 charge per day. Tanked my trip budget. I kinda needed that money to pay for everything else i.e. restaurants etc.

It's kind of a cute hotel and I appreciated it didn't feel like every chain -- it has some charm and is in a nice location. It also has some quarks -- like the carpet in the room was nice, but there was a baseball size divet under it in a spot by my mini fridge (didn't see it, but could feel it). Not sure you can control your room temp -- I was ok, but a little weird. And they charge a $40 "Destination Fee" at check-out for, in theory, a very mediocre breakfast.

The Normandy Hotel was an amazing experience. Great service and awesome location. I would definitely stay here again.

The location of the Normandy is ideal--close to the Dupont Circle metro, some good local eateries, and some local art venues. Breakfast has been added since the last time of my visit--I found the choice of breakfast items suited my needs as a vegetarian just fine. I had a large spacious room with a king size bed in a quiet location in the hotel (top floor). I will definitely stay here during my next holiday visit to DC.

Awesome location, lovely neighborhood. Be sure to take a walk to see the nearby embassies. The Metro is close enough, but the bus is convenient. There is some street noise from Connecticut Avenue, but it's not a problem. Staff is friendly and helpful.
