Park Hyatt Washington DC

Although the hotel staff was courteous, unfortunately the hotel manager refused to change my reservation despite giving him 48 hrs prior notice. That was very disappointing. Hotel room layout is different (closet in the bathroom and next to the toilet) but after a while you get used to it. Lobby bar is small, but good quality and the restaurant is excellent. It is a shame that a hotel manager decided not to exercise his sound discretion to keep a customer happy. After all, no favors were being requested.

Pros: Exceptional and clean rooms, wonderful housekeeping, standout second front desk agent, great breakfast team. Cons: Small public spaces, lacking standard Park Hyatt amenities, poor initial check-in experience. As someone with a personal goal of staying at every Park Hyatt around the world, I tend to hold these properties to a very high standard. Having stayed at the Park Hyatt Auckland two years ago—which featured fantastic common spaces and a wonderful spa area to utilize—the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. feels quite small and not up to the brand's usual global standards. There is virtually nowhere to sit, relax, and unwind outside of your actual room. The service was a mixed bag. The first front desk agent we encountered seemed entirely uninterested in speaking with us or handling our arrival properly, pushing us to wait until the standard 4:00 PM check-in time. Fortunately, the agent who took over at the end after our lunch and completed our check-in was exceptional. She proactively asked if we would be comfortable accepting a room on a lower floor, and once I agreed, she accommodated us immediately. I really appreciated her taking the time to talk me through everything—she completely saved the arrival experience. On a much brighter note, the rooms themselves were exceptional and spotlessly clean, and the housekeeping team was wonderful throughout our stay. The food was also great; our breakfast servers, Nina and Derrick, were incredibly welcoming and communicative, making for a fantastic dining experience.

This was an incredible experience! The staff went above and beyond. They were very responsive and even received a response back from my email to the GM. They made our check in and stay so special that I couldn't love this hotel any more than I do. They allowed us an early check in, upgraded us to a suite, showered my teen on their birthday with many many treats and sweets and even a thoughtful lovely gift. The restaurant was incredible and the staff made sure to introduce themselves. Celebrations for the birthday continued at the restaurant. I loved the warm and friendly nature of the staff who would be just so eager to help out in any way they could. The valet app failed us many times but the staff helped ensure we got our car speedily.

The hotel is very pretty and the location is excellent but the bed was very uncomfortable, way too soft, and the shower is miserable. I expected much more.

Amazing stay-convenient location, customer service was fantastic, especially Derikke Kitt (host at restaurant).
