Reviews for Park Hyatt Washington DC

Lovely!

This was a top notch experience. Rooms are well appointed with coffee machine, robes and just everything you need. I had a package delivered and they took it to my room while I was out. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent, too. It was a relaxing stay even if I was there for work. Highly recommend!

Business Suite vs Luxury Suite

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

My daughter surprised me with a mother-daughter staycation at the Park Hyatt, and overall, there were some wonderful moments, but also a few disappointments that kept the experience from feeling as luxurious as we expected. The location is excellent—very convenient to Georgetown shopping, restaurants, and attractions. The reservation staff was also extremely accommodating and kindly upgraded my daughter to a suite, which we were very excited about. Unfortunately, when we entered the suite, it didn’t have the luxurious feel we were anticipating. It felt more like a spacious business or conference suite, especially with the enormous desk that greeted us as soon as we walked in. The bed was a queen, and the bathroom counter and some of the finishes felt like they could use an update. The closet was also located inside the bathroom, which was a little unusual. The room itself was very spacious, though, and after a day of shopping in Georgetown, we certainly appreciated having plenty of room for all of our shopping bags! One of our biggest frustrations was the WiFi. We had so much trouble connecting that we finally called to ask whether there was an outage. We were told there wasn’t and that this was normal, which was surprising for a hotel at this level. We were also disappointed that the suite did not have a refrigerator or microwave. When you are paying for an upscale hotel experience—particularly a suite—those are amenities you appreciate having. Where the Park Hyatt really shined was its staff. At the restaurant, I mentioned my strawberry allergy, and they took it very seriously. I ordered a dish that normally came with fruit and asked for the fruit to be left off, and the staff checked on me several times to make sure everything was safe. Ginni was especially wonderful—attentive, thoughtful, and caring. And I have to mention the pancakes: they were AMAZING! Another standout was bellman Jonathan Mayhew. It honestly seemed as though he was everywhere and might have been the only bellman working in the entire hotel! Despite how busy he appeared to be, he was consistently kind, informative, friendly, and welcoming. Employees like Jonathan and Ginni are what you remember after a hotel stay. Would I return? Probably not, but not because the Park Hyatt is a bad hotel. It simply did not offer the level of updated luxury that I expected for what we spent. For a mother-daughter staycation where we wanted to shop, relax, and enjoy a little luxury, the location and service were wonderful, but the accommodations themselves fell short of the experience we were hoping for. Still, I sincerely appreciate the staff members who made us feel welcome and cared for during our stay.

Good hotel. Service could have been better.

Room was spacious and well designed, though quite dated and might need some renovation. Food was amazing. Service, on the other hand, was borderline lacking, compared to similar hotels in the same tier. Overall solid experience but could have been better.

So right in DC

An amazing property. So classic in style and service. You feel it in the essence of the scent of the lobby and the decor. Staff is so well trained and so Park Hyatt. Loved the stay and will return often.
