Mothers Day retreat/staycation

Pros: Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. It’s a boutique hotel that sits on the water. Beautiful views from the rooftop restaurant, pool and 2nd floor restaurant. The location is perfectly situated among several restaurants and activities. The spa service is amazing. I’ve been to more beautiful spas as far as esthetics but the 90 min massage was top tier! The spa staff were super helpful too. The room has a comfy industrial feel which made it cozy. Robes were soft and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable but firm enough. The shower pressure was amazing. I wanted to get back in afterwards. Staff responded pretty quickly to my needs. Even brought me a hot water kettle to heat my water for my tea. Cons: Parking is very expensive so be prepared , valet is $75 overnight and the garage is $60. My tv stopped working my first night and no one ever showed to look at it. I discovered a leak in the bathroom which was not pleasant. Someone did come check it out but weren’t able to fix it while I was there. Got a text on Mother’s Day saying a fire drill was scheduled for Monday at 9am and 3pm. I went there for solitude and relaxation. It was quite disturbing to be awaken with a loud announcement and alarm! It last for about 15 minutes.

Doesn't get any better than the Washington Pendry. What a jewel in a city with so many exceptional choices. Honestly, I can't imagine service any better than the Pendry.

Beautifyul view, tiny expensive suite

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

For contemporary design and quality of furnishings, the hotel exceeds expectations. The view was great, exactly what I paid for. The physical suite, despite being your highest price offering other than the Pendry Suite, was perhaps the smallest suite I have ever stayed in. Not even a desk to work at, yet an oversize armoire in the sitting room. The shower, while large and luxurious, had a dangerously slippery marble floor tile. The bathroom barely had room for one sink, let alone the two normally found in an expensive suite. For these reasons, I will not return.

Be right back!

I had to make a quick trip to DC and chose to stay at Pendry DC The Wharf since I’ve had excellent stays at their other properties. Plus, I've never explored the wharf area before, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity! Despite only staying for one night, the experience was phenomenal from start to finish the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Since returning from Italy, my favorite drink has been the Hugo Spritz. Unfortunately, many bars in the States have failed to meet my expectations, but the spritz at Bar Pendry instantly transported me back to Italy. I'll definitely be returning to this hotel!

Gorgeous hotel in a fantastic neighborhood.

Feel like you are on vacation in the city. Gorgeous water views, close to great restaurants, bars, ice cream shop, cozy fire pits and seating. The guest rooms are beautifully designed that feel like residential luxury. I’m still dreaming about the bed…the most comfortable linens and pillows. Highly recommend.
