I love this property! I travel to DC for work and this Wharf location is my favorite area. Easy to walk everywhere, great dining options. The Pendry staff is exceptional. They always know your name and are so friendly. I stay here anytime I travel to DC!

Modern, elegant, stylish retreat

I can’t believe it took me this long to book a room here. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is beautiful. Lobby bar cozy. Moonraker bar and restaurant on roof is nothing short of spectacular with great views of the Potomac, and amazing drinks and food. This is my new favorite hotel in DC.

Moonraker is pompous and disappointing

Moonraker is consistently pompous and disappointing. The restaurant staff is arrogant and you never feel welcome. this location is beautiful, but i wish the customer experience was better. Hotel seems lovely--and concierge was very nice!!

Hotel Great. Moonraker not great with more than 4 people.

The overall experience was great. We had a late night check in. Brittany at the concierge was amazing with every request we had. We called ahead to let them know we would be checking in later in the night. We were told it was a good thing we called so they did not give our room away which I found weird seeing as it was already paid for. Not sure if this is standard across other hotels. They did not have extra cots even though that’s offered as a request when booking. They were able to give us extra blankets and sheets for the sofa bed which was nice. The checkout experience was also nice as the woman at the concierge was very personable and friendly. Only reason for 4 stars was the Moonraker dining experience. We had a party of 5 and were squeezed at a 4 person table where we were given a small cushioned backless stool as the 5th seat. We did not have any issues with this since it looked like they did not have tables to accommodate more than 4 people. The only issue was when we received the check we were added a 20% “pool service fee”. When we asked what that was we were told it was because we had 5 people. I’m not sure if this is your typical 20% gratuity charge for more than a specified minimum persons but it seemed like we were just being charged extra for having an extra person. Keep in mind it was 3 adults and 2 children. And we did not take up any more room than a party of 4 would have taken. We asked multiple people and they did not offer any further information or offer to remove it. We paid it but it left a bad taste in our mouths after having such a great experience otherwise. I wish the greeter would have mentioned that upon arrival so we knew what to expect. Again overall the experience was nice. The hotel was clean and all the hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. I would not dine at the Moonraker again especially with more than 4 people.

Wonderful week during a Stormy Time

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I found myself having to stay at the Pendry due to very unfortunate circumstances and they were the kindest people. From when I first entered to when I left. My room was very clean, I also did a cleanliness test and was very pleased. I travel often and a lot for work internationally and domestically and this was one of my best stays. The spa was wonderfu also. I do wish however that Moonraker had a more expansive breakfast menu but other than that all is worked out well, especially for the location. I am most thankful for the staff and I pray that the kindness they showed me is restored and given back to them double. Thank you to Shai(Shy), Joshua, Aaliyah, Titus, Kai'enne, Niayah, Brooks, Jeovante and the amazing women serving in the Pent House restaurant for making this stay so welcoming and calming. I needed everything they gave and then some.
