Riggs Washington DC

Everything was perfect. I also highly recommend this hotel for female solo travelers. I felt very safe and the people were cool. Not a bad experience. Very close to museums and pretty much the best central location. I recommend grabbing a drink at Silver Lyan. Zero noise levels to complain about. I slept like a baby. Clean yet snazzy & relaxed rooms. I did not get to check out their gym, but can't really complain about anything. The only thing I wish I would have asked about or booked is a room with a bathtub. Loved it and I will be back if I don't stay in Georgetown next time!

We spent three nights at The Riggs for a family wedding that was offsite. Every aspect of our stay was exceptional. The property is wonderful and centrally located in downtown and near most DC attractions. The staff is outstanding and the bar and restaurant offer a great experience at a reasonable price. While most wedding activities were held offsite the brunch Sunday morning after the wedding was outstanding. We utilized valet parking which was seamless and the bell staff was excellent. I highly recommend The Riggs DC for a stay in DC.

Everyone at the rigs makes the place so special. From Ria with her funky glasses and gravitas, to Bellman Vincent, who started my trip so perfectly with his amazing customer service and smile, through to the lovely Dutch lady on reception and your engineer guy who I see everywhere, always walking around with a smile. Everyone in the hotel are wonderfully friendly, professional and just a joy to be around. Thank you. I really do love your hotel.

Wonderful stay. All interactions top notch. Stayed with a wedding on rooftop which practically took over the elevators on a Sat. But didn't stain the friendliness and competence of the staff. I actually felt they cared I had a good stay.

Pros - Beautiful hotel. Centrally located - a very easy walk to the metro, museums, restaurants. The on-site restaurant was incredible, one of the best meals I've had. Staff were fantastic. Every request we had was handled promptly and everyone was really friendly. Room was very clean and quiet. Cons - The bathroom! The layout was awkward. The shower did not drain well so water would pool up. The first night, we asked for someone to come up and they got it fixed but the problem started again on the 3rd night of our 4 night stay. The bathroom also smelled bad the entire time, presumably from stagnant water in the drain. The "hotel fee" - I dropped $2,600 here between the room, dining in the restaurant, room service and mini-bar so my last impression being the $200 "hotel fee" for 4 nights was not super appreciated. They probably mentioned it, but if so it was lost in the shuffle of checking in and booking. Truly would've rather the cost of the room just been higher than getting hit with this separate fee which leaves a bad taste in your mouth after an otherwise great stay. Overall I would definitely stay here again because the location is great and the room was very clean.
