Constructed in 1891 as a headquarters for Riggs National Bank, the landmark example of Richardson Romanesque architecture was known as the Bank of Presidents, and resides at the intersection not just of 9th and F Street, but of American history.

Exceptional, Phenomenal place all around!!!!
Overall absolutely Amazing stay, not only is Riggs Hotel beautiful, it’s clean and the staff are above and beyond friendly and helpful- everyone from the valet, front desk, cleaning staff, restaurant staff!! Impeccable service! The food at Cafe Riggs is delicious, we ate both dinner and breakfast here and it was fabulous, and again with great service. The polished politeness of the staff really stood out and made us feel special and like we were at a fancy high end place. I can’t say enough positive thoughts about Riggs and will definitely be going back!!

Superb experience but
Well situated. And good bedding... Bkfast tasteless and expensive but coffee excellent. Good wifi. Staff is pleasant. No plug adaptor, get you own nearby at Nordstrom ... 2 pins flat. They want you to buy their charger kit at 30 USD.

Awesome find!
This hotel is a hidden gem! Great architecture, great location to DC attractions. The rooms were new, clean, quiet and quaint. The restaurant was notch and the staff was too. The area was safe and easy walking even at night. I’ll definitely stay here again.

The Best!!
Everything at Riggs was amazing. Everyone was extremely sweet and kind and I appreciated all of the staff accommodating me. Garnett was extremely helpful in helping me coordinate things. The food was amazing as well! Thank you everyone who helped me during my stay!!

We had a great stay at The Riggs. Great service from all the staff and a beautiful room. Enjoyed the gym and their in hotel café!
