To step inside our soaring entrance is to become a part of the past, present, and future of the Penn Quarter. Constructed in 1891 as a headquarters for Riggs National Bank, the landmark example of Richardson Romanesque architecture was known as the Bank of Presidents, and resides at the intersection not just of 9th and F Street, but of American history.

The thing that stands out most about my stay at the Riggs was the hospitality and service provided. The employees from doorman to waiters provided such exceptional and cheerful service. The hotel is in a great location. I walked to the Capitol and Smithsonian. And its right around the corner from the Ford's theater which is worth a step back in time to Lincoln's assassination. The standard rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. This is what hotel stays should all be aspiring to!

My husband and I really enjoyed our four nights at the Riggs while in DC for his birthday! We love staying in historic hotels and the Riggs is just that! The hotel is gorgeous and full of historical charm. If you have a Capital One travel card, I highly recommend booking through their travel portal, as it comes with complimentary breakfast, a room upgrade if available, and a food/beverage credit. The complimentary breakfast was delicious (try the overnight oats, they are amazing) and our server, Kayla, was so friendly and attentive! We went to the bar in the old bank vault for drinks and were so impressed with how personable and attentive all of the bartenders were! Not only were the drinks great, but the service was top notch! Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The location of the Riggs could not be better! The hotel is close to a Metro Station and is just down the street from Capital One Arena. Hotel staff were also kind enough to set up champagne and tarts in our room to surprise my husband for his birthday! We hope to come back for another visit in the future!

We loved this hotel and everything about it. Great location, beautiful lobby, bars, cafe and the rooms were so clean and gorgeous. My wife's birthday weekend was made more special by this hotel. The staff were superb in their friendliness and customer service. We never had to open a door by ourselves. Everyone really was just spot-on, doting on us the whole time. It was right next to Ford's theatre too, for our show. Great restaurants and bars nearby. We really just a great experience. The rooms are really fun and clean with great decor throughout. They pay attention to some of the smallest details too inside the room that made our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed here for a few nights and were incredibly unimpressed with it all. We checked in and went to our room but there was no hot water the entire first day. The next morning we tried out brunch in the hotels restaurant and it took almost three hours as our orders took forever to arrive and multiple things were wrong with the meal. So many things about this hotel didn’t meet our expectations and we will not be staying again.

Riggs DC has a phenomenal reservation team! During my booking experience, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by an angel, that is Ms. Marion. She is a very kind and personable lady and helped me twice with booking my reservation for the Thanksgiving holiday. I love that Riggs DC’s customer service team prioritizes customer service and because of the great front desk staff, and Marion’s professionalism and wonderful personality, I will definitely plan a stay at Riggs DC and their partner hotels again! Thank you Marion and the Riggs DC reservation team!
