Overpriced and underwhelmed
what are we paying for here? The room is very dated but it was spacious. Lacks updated amenities, sink was cracked. As is typical with RC, they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. The concierges are great and very helpful but I would say the service was lackluster as a whole. Waited a very long time to be served in the lobby. I understand we are paying for the location but this was far too much money to pay for mid-tier service.

Lobby Reeks
The lobby has a horrid, overwhelming chemical odor which caused my wife to pass out when we checked in. For the balance of our stay, we had to avoid the lobby and the amenities therein, and take a circuitous route to our room involving stairs up and down and around and so forth. When I asked the manager what the scent was, she told me this was “Ritz’s Signature Scent” which was supposed to resemble something like “Redwood Forest.” It actually more closely resembled being stuck in a taxi with those pine-shaped deodorizers, if there were 100 of them instead of just one. She also told me the scent was piped in 24-7, and nothing could be done about it. Low class.

Best Choice in DC!
I’ve been a regular at another flagship luxury Marriott property averaging over 50+ nights/yr at that property alone, and while I still adore many hotel and restaurant staff, recent management changes have yielded inconsistent experiences and IMHO undervalues loyalty. I decided to “shop around” in the DC-Metro area and The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown is the gem of the ball! Exceptional customer service abounds from each and every department. From pre-arrival, replies to automated emails from guest services get immediate attention and the team goes above and beyond to meet your needs. Rooms are well-maintained and exceedingly clean making you feel at ease and at home. Dining service is highly attentive and the food delicious. You will be hard press to fault this place — they thrive on excellence and have earned the #1 spot in DC!

Beautiful hotel in a great neighbourhood with a very personal touch. The lounge with the log fire is so cosy. All staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient, with Edward a particular star. The suite was very well appointed, bed extremely comfortable

The Ritz that has the best staff!
I would give this Ritz a 6 star review if possible. Went for New Year’s Eve with friends and family! Isaac waited on us absolutely amazing service! The staff is incredible and everyone that I had the pleasure of speaking with was just helpful and nice! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the DC area
