Decent hotel with major room flaws
The hotel interior and rooms are fine but do not expect to have a good night sleep. The AC in the rooms shuts off when you are sleeping even in the summer time making it hot, but worse than that, if you wave your hand to trigger the motion sensor to turn the AC back on there is a light that flashes and illuminates the whole room.

Excellent Hotel in Great Location
Stayed at the Royal Sonesta as part of an extended trip to USA. Great location, 35 minute easy walk to the Whitehouse. Room was spotless, very large, and bed was so comfortable! AC was very efficient. Bathroom was great with lovely products. Staff were all excellent and very helpful from reception through to the bar and restaurant. Highly recommend Royal Sonesta. We’d previously stayed at R S in New Orleans so were confident in our choice and not disappointed.

Great location, great, staff
This hotel is centrally located with really kind and helpful staff, Shawn and Cookie, who made our stay comfortable and welcoming. The room we had was beautiful and practical for what we needed -- the only thing lacking was a view, but that's pretty typical in this area. The pool area is on a terrace next to some apartments so -- take that for what you will, it doesn't get much sun and it's small. It could definitely use some sprucing. Outside of that -- we enjoyed our stay here and would come back, too!

Hidden fees
Location is good . Please be aware the HIDDEN FEES. This hotel is a scam . They say you stay is with breakfast fast. This is NOT true . On check out, a VERY rude person at the desk told me “ no need to get mad, you only have 30 dollars each for the breakfast. “ I said nobody told us anything. He rudely said “ look at your confirmation “ I said , it is not a matter of proof , but a matter of principle, guest should be informed. I honestly was so surprised.after paying the hidden fees we NEVER were told about my wife and I gave our luggage to the reception ( not sure if this was a right thing to do, since I do not trust this hotel)
